New Delhi: The Supreme Court pension clarification ruling has brought major clarity on pension benefits for retired High Court Chief Justices and Judges.
In a recent clarification, the Supreme Court confirmed that revised pensions under its 2025 judgment will be applicable from October 9, 2016, ensuring fair and equal pension benefits.
This decision strengthens the principle of “one rank, one pension” for the judiciary.

What Did the Supreme Court Say?

- Full revised pension is allowed from 09.10.2016 onwards.

- If a judge retired before this date:
- They will receive proportionate pension, not full revised pension.
