Gwalior: The Madhya Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has carried out a major administrative reshuffle of IAS officers handling rural development and district-level responsibilities. The reshuffle includes changes in the commissioners of the Gwalior and Satna municipal corporations and the transfer of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of district panchayats in 10 districts.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), IAS officers from the 2016 to 2024 batches have been assigned new responsibilities. Several officers have been transferred as district panchayat CEOs, additional collectors, Sub-Divisional Officers (Revenue), assistant collectors and deputy secretaries in different state government departments.
Gwalior and Satna Municipal Corporations Get New Commissioners
As part of the reshuffle, Abhishek Chaudhary (2018 batch) has been transferred from CEO, Dhar District Panchayat, and appointed as Commissioner, Gwalior Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile, Dr Nagarjun B. Gowda (2019 batch) has been transferred from CEO, Khandwa District Panchayat, and appointed as Commissioner, Satna Municipal Corporation. He will also hold additional charge as CEO of Smart City Satna.
The changes are part of the government’s broader administrative restructuring at the district and urban local-body levels.

Key Transfers Among 2016 and 2018 Batch Officers
Several senior IAS officers from the 2016 and 2018 batches have received new assignments.
- Sanjana Jain (2016): Transferred from Additional Collector, Maihar, to Deputy Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government, Water Resources Department.
- Jagdish Kumar Gome (2016): Transferred from CEO, Singrauli District Panchayat, to CEO, Sagar District Panchayat.
- Abhishek Chaudhary (2018): Transferred from CEO, Dhar District Panchayat, to Commissioner, Gwalior Municipal Corporation.
- Sangh Priya (2018): Transferred from Commissioner, Gwalior Municipal Corporation, to CEO, Singrauli District Panchayat.
- Akshay Kumar Tejpal (2018): Transferred from CEO, Datia District Panchayat, to Additional Commissioner, Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
- Jyoti Sharma (2018): Transferred from CEO, Dewas District Panchayat, to Deputy Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government.
- Anjali Joseph Jonathan (2018): Transferred from CEO, Harda District Panchayat, to Deputy Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government, Public Works Department.
- Naveen Kumar Dhurve (2018): Transferred from CEO, Tikamgarh District Panchayat, to CEO, Dewas District Panchayat.
2019 to 2021 Batch Officers Receive New Responsibilities
The reshuffle also covers IAS officers from the 2019, 2020 and 2021 batches.
Kajal Jawla (2019) has been transferred from CEO, Barwani District Panchayat, and appointed as Additional Mission Director, State Education Centre, Bhopal.
Dr Nagarjun B. Gowda (2019) has been appointed Commissioner, Satna Municipal Corporation, with additional charge as CEO of Smart City Satna.
Anil Kumar Damor (2019) has been transferred from Additional Collector, Vidisha, to Deputy Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government, Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
Abhishek Saraf (2020) has been transferred from CEO, Balaghat District Panchayat, to Additional Commissioner, Urban Administration and Development, Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal.
Vivek K. D. (2020) has been appointed CEO, Jabalpur Development Authority, Jabalpur, after serving as CEO, Sagar District Panchayat.
Soumya Anand (2021) will now serve as CEO, Sidhi District Panchayat.
Major Reshuffle Among 2022 Batch Officers
The 2022 batch has also seen several changes in postings, particularly across district panchayats and urban administration.
The key appointments include:
- Ishwarya Verma: CEO, Khandwa District Panchayat.
- Ashish: Additional Commissioner, Indore Municipal Corporation.
- Kartikeya Jaiswal: CEO, Sheopur District Panchayat.
- Vishal Dhakad: CEO, Tikamgarh District Panchayat.
- Sonali Dev: Transferred from SDO (Revenue), Bichhiya, Mandla, to Deputy Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government.
- Arpit Gupta: Transferred from SDO (Revenue), Baihar, Balaghat, to CEO, Barwani District Panchayat.
- Tanushree Meena: Transferred from SDM, Petlawad, Jhabua, to CEO, Balaghat District Panchayat.
The appointments are expected to bring changes in administrative responsibilities across rural development and urban local bodies.
2024 Batch Assistant Collectors Posted as SDOs
Several IAS officers from the 2024 batch have been assigned charge as Sub-Divisional Officers (Revenue) in different districts.
The new postings include:
- Ashish Kumar: SDO (Revenue), Bina, Sagar district.
- Aniket Shandilya: SDO (Revenue), Baihar, Balaghat district.
- Akash Agrawal: SDO (Revenue), Majhauli, Sidhi district.
- Patil Ashish Ashok: SDO (Revenue), Kukshi, Dhar district.
- Sushil Shri Krishna Shriram: SDO (Revenue), Deosar, Singrauli district.
- Kuldeep Patel: SDO (Revenue), Bichhiya, Mandla district.
- Jamadar Farhan Irfan: SDO (Revenue), Shahpura, Dindori district.
- Thakur Ritvik Vijay: SDO (Revenue), Bijawar, Chhatarpur district.
- Navkiran Kaur: SDO (Revenue), Udaipura, Raisen district.
Shraddha Shukla Kept Awaiting Posting
According to the government order, Shraddha Shukla (2022 batch) has been kept awaiting posting for the time being.
The order also mentions her posting as Additional Collector, Khandwa district, along with details regarding the junior pay scale.
The latest reshuffle covers officers across multiple administrative levels and is aimed at realigning responsibilities in district administration, rural development, urban governance and various state government departments.
