Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will release the 41st instalment of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana on October 14, providing financial assistance to around 1.25 crore eligible women across the state. He will transfer the money through a single click at a programme in Guruvahi village, under the Manpur Janpad Panchayat in Umaria district.

Eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹1,500 each in their bank accounts. The event, scheduled during Navratri, will also include the inauguration and foundation-laying of 136 development works worth more than ₹144 crore.

The instalment continues a monthly assistance programme that aims to strengthen women’s financial independence, support household needs and improve their participation in family decisions.

Ladli Behna Yojana: ₹1,500 Monthly Assistance for Eligible Women

The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana aims to improve women’s economic independence, health and nutrition while strengthening their role in household decision-making. Through regular financial assistance, the state seeks to help eligible women meet personal needs and participate more actively in family finances.

Under the scheme, eligible general beneficiaries receive ₹1,500 per month. Registered eligible women who receive assistance under social security pension schemes receive ₹900 per month, as provided under the scheme’s rules.

The government transfers the assistance directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts with active Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) facilities. This system enables beneficiaries to receive payments directly rather than relying on intermediaries.

For households managing regular expenses, monthly assistance can provide additional financial support. However, the actual impact depends on each family’s circumstances and how beneficiaries use the money.

From the First Instalment in 2023 to the 41st Payment

The government first transferred monthly assistance under the Ladli Behna Yojana in June 2023, reaching around 1.25 crore women. By September 2026, beneficiaries had received 40 instalments, according to the information released by the state government.

The 41st instalment will follow on October 14, 2026. The government has also provided four special payments of ₹250 each in August 2023, August 2024, August 2025 and August 2026.

These additional payments came separately from the regular monthly assistance. The latest announcement therefore marks the continuation of the scheme’s regular payment cycle rather than the launch of a new programme.

The Madhya Pradesh government has allocated ₹23,882.81 crore for the Ladli Behna Yojana in the 2026–27 financial year. This budget provision indicates the scale of public spending planned for the scheme during the year.

Why the Scheme Matters for Women’s Financial Independence

Regular cash assistance can help women manage personal expenses and contribute to household requirements. It can also give beneficiaries greater flexibility in deciding how to use part of their household income.

The scheme’s stated objectives extend beyond financial support. It also aims to improve health and nutrition and strengthen women’s participation in family decisions. These goals make the scheme part of the state’s broader approach to women’s welfare and empowerment.

Direct bank transfers provide a formal route for delivering the money to beneficiaries. To receive payments smoothly, eligible women need to ensure that their bank accounts remain active and that the required Aadhaar and DBT arrangements are in place.

The latest release will continue the scheme’s monthly assistance for eligible women across Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh to Take Up 136 Development Works in Umaria

Alongside the instalment release, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 136 development works with a combined stated cost of ₹14,415.93 lakh, or about ₹144.16 crore.

The programme includes 68 completed works worth ₹8,731.55 lakh for inauguration and 68 works worth ₹5,684.41 lakh for which foundation stones will be laid.

The projects cover the Bandhavgarh and Manpur Assembly constituencies in Umaria district. Their details are as follows:

Bandhavgarh Assembly constituency: The programme includes the inauguration of 18 works worth ₹5,906.99 lakh and the foundation-laying of 46 works worth ₹3,225.22 lakh.

Manpur Assembly constituency: The Chief Minister will inaugurate 50 works worth ₹2,824.56 lakh and lay the foundation stones for 22 works worth ₹2,459.16 lakh.

The announced programme combines the delivery of direct financial assistance with local development activities. The information provided does not specify the individual projects, their sectors or their completion timelines.

A Combined Focus on Welfare and Local Development

The October 14 programme brings together two areas of government action: direct financial support for women and investment in development works in Umaria district.

For Ladli Behna Yojana beneficiaries, the instalment provides continued financial assistance. For residents of Bandhavgarh and Manpur, the 136 development works represent a separate set of local projects at different stages of implementation.

The broader significance will depend on timely payments, effective use of public funds and the completion of the announced development works. Together, these measures reflect the state’s focus on social welfare and local infrastructure development.
