Indian Masterminds Stories

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is preparing a roadmap to modernise its passenger transport system, with a focus on safer, smarter, cleaner and more convenient public mobility. The state will discuss its MP Mobility Vision 2030 at the Passenger Transport Vision Summit 2026 in Indore on September 11 and 12.

The two-day summit at the Brilliant Convention Centre will bring together transport experts, bus operators, entrepreneurs and policymakers. Eight sessions will examine key areas linked to the future of passenger transport in Madhya Pradesh.

The discussions will focus on improving public transport services while using technology, private investment and cleaner mobility solutions to meet the state’s future transport requirements.

MP Mobility Vision 2030 at the Centre

A major focus of the summit will be the MP Mobility Vision 2030 under the Chief Minister’s Accessible Passenger Transport Service.

The state will discuss ways to promote investment through public-private partnerships (PPP) and strengthen public bus operations.

Another priority will be the effective implementation of Central Government schemes related to employment and entrepreneurship.

The summit will also examine strategies for making public bus operations financially sustainable and self-reliant.

Smart Technology to Improve Bus Services

Technology will play an important role in the state’s mobility plans.

Experts will discuss the use of Intelligent Transport Management Systems (ITMS) in bus operations and the scope for public-private participation in developing and managing such systems.

The summit will also examine data-based decision-making and AI analytics for better planning of intra-city and inter-city bus routes.

Using data and technology for route planning can help transport authorities assess travel patterns and plan bus operations according to passenger requirements.

Better Passenger Experience Through Integrated Systems

Improving the passenger experience will be another key area of discussion.

The summit will examine the introduction of integrated ticketing and automated fare collection systems to make journeys more seamless for passengers.

Such systems can bring different elements of ticketing and fare collection together and make public transport easier to use.

Passenger safety, reliability and security will also receive attention, with experts discussing measures to strengthen these aspects of public transport services.

Green Mobility and Cleaner Transport

The summit will also focus on making Madhya Pradesh’s passenger transport system more environmentally sustainable.

Discussions will cover the use of clean fuels and green mobility solutions, along with the development of a bus fleet that is prepared for future transport requirements.

The focus on cleaner fuels is part of the broader effort to reduce the environmental impact of passenger transportation while modernising the state’s public transport network.

Investment and Employment Opportunities

Private investment will form another important part of the mobility discussions.

The state will examine public-private partnership models for bus operations and transport technology. The implementation of Central Government schemes for employment and entrepreneurship will also be discussed.

The focus on investment and entrepreneurship connects mobility development with wider economic opportunities. A modern transport system requires not only buses and infrastructure but also technology, operations, maintenance and skilled manpower.

Eight Sessions to Discuss Future Mobility

The Passenger Transport Vision Summit 2026 will use eight sessions to bring together different aspects of passenger mobility.

Key areas include:

  • MP Mobility Vision 2030 and investment through PPP
  • Financially sustainable public bus operations
  • ITMS and technology-enabled transport
  • Passenger safety and service reliability
  • Green mobility and clean fuels
  • Integrated ticketing and automated fare collection
  • Data-driven route planning and AI analytics
  • Employment, entrepreneurship and Central Government schemes

The discussions will provide a platform for policymakers, industry representatives and transport experts to examine the requirements of Madhya Pradesh’s passenger transport system.

Building a Future-Ready Transport System

The summit is being organised by the Transport Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government as part of its efforts to improve passenger transport facilities across the state.

The larger objective is to develop a transport system that combines modern technology, private investment, environmental protection and passenger convenience.

For Madhya Pradesh, the focus on mobility is closely linked to everyday public needs. Reliable bus services, safer journeys, convenient ticketing, better route planning and cleaner transport can improve how people travel within cities and between different parts of the state.

The Passenger Transport Vision Summit 2026 will therefore focus on identifying strategies for a more modern and future-ready mobility system as Madhya Pradesh works towards its Mobility Vision 2030.
