Major Police Reshuffle in Telangana, IPS AV Ranganath Made IG of Hyderabad Multi-Zone 1

- Sharath Chandra Pawar (2016 batch IPS) becomes the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ACB)
On February 26th, the Telangana government ordered the transfer of three IPS officers, and the Hyderabad police commissioner transferred 71 sub-inspectors (SIs) and 7 station house officers (SHOs).
As per the directive, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari (1989 batch IAS) gave the nod for the promotion of three top cops. The additional commissioner of Hyderabad Traffic, Officer P. Vishwa Prasad (2005 batch IPS), was mandated to assume office as the new Inspector-General (IG) of the city police.
The additional commissioner of Crime and Special Investigation Team (SIT), Mr. A.V. Ranganath (promotee IPS), was given charge as the new IG of the city’s multi-zone 1, and Sharath Chandra Pawar (2016 batch IPS), incumbent as the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) for Central Zone, is to assume office as the new superintendent of police (SP) for the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ACB).
At the same time, the police commissioner of Hyderabad, Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy (1994 batch IPS), released the transfer order of 71 SIs and 7 SHOs to various police stations across the city.
