Shillong: The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced that the Half-Yearly Departmental Examination for IAS and IPS officers will be conducted in Shillong from June 9 to June 12, 2026.
The announcement was made through an official notification issued on April 28, outlining key details regarding the examination schedule, application process, and eligibility requirements.
Examination Venue and Schedule
According to the notification, the examination will be held at the MPSC Office Building located at Lower Lachaumiere in Shillong. The detailed examination programme has also been enclosed with the official notification for candidates’ reference.

Application Process and Deadline
Officers intending to appear for the examination have been directed to download the prescribed application form titled “Application Form for Half Yearly Departmental Examination, 2025” from the Commission’s official website.
The completed application form must be submitted to the Secretary, Meghalaya Public Service Commission, Shillong. Additionally, applicants are required to inform the Personnel (A) Department of the state government.
The last date for submission of applications is June 2, 2026. The Commission has clearly stated that applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. Furthermore, no fresh applications will be entertained at the examination centre under any circumstances.
Mandatory Details for Applicants
Candidates have been instructed to carefully fill in all required details in the application form. These include:
- Full name
- Designation
- Place of posting
- Cadre (IAS or IPS)
All details must be written clearly in block letters. The Commission has warned that incomplete or unclear applications may be rejected.
Language Examination Details
As part of the departmental examination, candidates will also be tested on language proficiency. The language examination will be conducted at the prescribed standard in multiple languages, including:
- Assamese
- Bengali
- Hindi
- Khasi
- Garo
- Lushai
- Mikir
Khasi, Garo, and Lushai will be conducted in Roman script, while Mikir will be conducted in Assamese script.
