Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav addressed the “Udyami Samvad” programme held in Burhanpur on May 6, where he shared the state government’s vision for industrial growth and economic development.
He said the government has introduced industry-friendly policies and removed unnecessary laws to improve the ease of doing business in the state.
Strong Commitment to Industrial Development in Burhanpur
The Chief Minister assured industrialists that the government will make every possible effort to support Burhanpur’s industrial development. He emphasized that the state is fully committed to strengthening the region’s industrial ecosystem.
He also highlighted that Burhanpur is being developed as an emerging hub for trade and industry.

Key Announcements for Industry and Investment
During the interaction, several important announcements were made to promote investment and trade in the region, including:
- Efforts to make cotton duty-free
- Formation of a Traders Welfare Board
- Plans to boost industrial investment
- Development of new industrial opportunities
The Chief Minister also mentioned upcoming initiatives such as the Nimar Investors Summit to attract more investors.

CM Mohan Yadav said that entrepreneurship has historically played a major role in strengthening India’s economy. He noted that India once contributed significantly to global trade and is now regaining its economic strength through innovation and enterprise.

Traders Welfare Board and Policy Reforms
The state government has approved the formation of a Traders Welfare Board, which will function at the district level to address issues faced by business communities.
The Chief Minister also said that several outdated laws have been removed and efforts are underway to improve infrastructure, including the power supply system.

Describing Burhanpur as a “gateway to development,” the Chief Minister said that although it is a small district, it has a strong potential for industrial growth due to its progressive mindset.

Speaking to the media after the event, CM Mohan Yadav said that increasing farmers’ income remains a key priority. He stated that the government is promoting industries, trade, and employment to strengthen both the state and national economy.
He also mentioned that 2025 has been declared as the “Industry Year” and 2026 as the “Farmer Welfare Year.”
The Chief Minister also made brief remarks on national political developments, stating expectations regarding future electoral outcomes.
