Bhopal/Katni: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated two state-of-the-art Sandipani Schools in Jhinjhari and Bahoriband in Katni district, stating that improved infrastructure and quality education are encouraging students to shift from private schools to government-run institutions.
Addressing a public gathering in Sleemanabad, Katni, the Chief Minister said the Sandipani Schools have become a symbol of modern, quality education by combining traditional values with advanced educational facilities.
CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates Sandipani Schools Worth Over ₹74 Crore
The Chief Minister inaugurated:
- Sandipani School, Jhinjhari built at a cost of ₹38.61 crore
- Sandipani School, Bahoriband constructed at a cost of ₹35.63 crore
Together, the projects represent an investment of more than ₹74 crore in strengthening government school infrastructure in Katni district.
According to the Chief Minister, the campuses offer modern classrooms, digital learning facilities, and comprehensive infrastructure while preserving the values of the traditional Gurukul education system.
Government Schools Attracting Students from Private Institutions
Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state’s education reforms are producing visible results, with many students opting for government-run Sandipani Schools instead of private institutions.
He credited this shift to improved educational infrastructure and student welfare initiatives.
The Chief Minister highlighted several government schemes supporting school students, including:
- Free textbooks
- Free bicycles
- Laptops for students scoring more than 75% in board examinations
- Scooters for school toppers
He added that these initiatives are aimed at ensuring equal educational opportunities for every child.
Sandipani Schools Blend Traditional Values with Modern Education
Referring to the legacy of Lord Krishna and Guru Sandipani, CM Mohan Yadav said the schools are inspired by India’s rich educational traditions while providing students with modern learning resources.
He said the institutions promote value-based education alongside digital learning and skill development, preparing students for future academic and professional success.
The Chief Minister also announced that Guru Purnima Mahotsav will be celebrated across the state and emphasized the importance of teachers in shaping society.
CM Highlights Major Irrigation Projects for Farmers
Speaking about infrastructure development, Dr. Mohan Yadav said the Sleemanabad Tunnel Project would become a major milestone for farmers in the Baghelkhand and Bundelkhand regions.
He stated that the project, approved with an investment of nearly ₹1,400 crore, will improve irrigation and drinking water supply in:
- Rewa
- Satna
- Maihar
- Panna
- Katni
The Chief Minister added that the project would be formally inaugurated in Katni soon.
He also highlighted other major water infrastructure initiatives, including:
- Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, benefiting districts such as Damoh, Sagar, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Vidisha.
- Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) Project, which will strengthen irrigation and drinking water facilities in the Chambal and Malwa regions.
Uniform Civil Code Draft to Be Presented in Upcoming Assembly Session
CM Mohan Yadav announced that the draft Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be placed before the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly during the upcoming monsoon session.
He said a Cabinet meeting would be held at Jagdishpur, near Bhopal, before the Assembly session to approve the draft.
According to the Chief Minister, the initiative aligns with the vision of “One Nation, One Law” and aims to establish a common legal framework for all communities in the state.
Ladli Behna Scheme Assistance to Increase
The Chief Minister also announced that beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana will receive ₹1,500 in their bank accounts ahead of Raksha Bandhan.
He said the state government remains committed to strengthening women’s financial empowerment through welfare initiatives.
