CM Mohan Yadav Releases 37th Installment of Ladli Behna Yojana, Transfers ₹1,835 Crore to 1.25 Crore Women in Sagar

During a programme in Kesli, CM also announced development projects worth ₹190.85 crore, unveiled major infrastructure initiatives, and reiterated commitment to women empowerment and inclusive growth in Madhya Pradesh.

Sagar: In a major welfare initiative, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday released the 37th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana during a public program held in Kesli, Deori Assembly constituency in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. Through a single-click transfer, ₹1,835 crore was directly credited into the bank accounts of more than 1.25 crore eligible women across the state.

The event also featured the launch, inauguration, and foundation laying of multiple development projects worth nearly ₹190.85 crore in Sagar district.

₹1,835 Crore Transferred to Women Beneficiaries

Under the 37th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, the state government provided financial assistance of ₹1,500 per beneficiary.

  • Total beneficiaries: 1.25 crore+ women
  • Total amount transferred: ₹1,835 crore
  • Sagar district beneficiaries: over 4.15 lakh women
  • Amount transferred in Sagar alone: ₹61.14 crore

The Chief Minister emphasized that women are using the financial support to contribute to household expenses and improve family well-being, strengthening their economic participation.

CM Highlights Women Empowerment and Social Progress

Addressing the gathering, CM Mohan Yadav said that welfare schemes like Ladli Behna Yojana are significantly improving the social and economic status of women in Madhya Pradesh.

He stated that women’s participation in household financial management reflects their dedication and empowerment, adding that the government remains committed to ensuring dignity, education, security, and financial independence for women.

Major Development Projects Worth ₹190.85 Crore Announced

Alongside the welfare payout, the Chief Minister also unveiled a series of infrastructure initiatives in Sagar district.

Key Project Breakdown:

  • ₹122.02 crore: Foundation stones laid for 28 new projects
  • ₹68.83 crore: Inauguration of 25 completed projects
  • Total projects: 53 development works

These projects are expected to improve regional infrastructure, public facilities, and connectivity.

Major Announcements for Education, Health, and Infrastructure

Several key announcements were made during the event:

  • Start of Phase 2 construction at Sandipani School in Kesli
  • Upgradation of multiple schools including:
    • Government High School Chhirchhita Sukhju (to Higher Secondary)
    • Schools in Deori, Nahar Mau, and Nanhi Deori
  • Establishment of a 100-bed hospital in Deori with staff
  • Approval of the Thawari irrigation project (approx. ₹550 crore)
  • Setting up procurement centers for onion and garlic in Deori Mandi
  • Introduction of new courses:
    • Science stream in Deori College
    • Political Science in Arts faculty
    • Postgraduate classes in Arts and Commerce at Kesli College
  • Proposal to rename Deori town as Devpuri
  • Development of Devkhanderav Temple as a tourism site
  • Conversion of Kesli and Gaurjhamar Gram Panchayats into Nagar Panchayats
  • Renaming of Deori Mandi to Rani Avanti Bai Mandi

Political Remarks Against Opposition

During the public address, CM Mohan Yadav also criticized the Congress party, accusing it of disregarding women’s welfare schemes. He urged women beneficiaries to remain aware and politically conscious regarding such statements.

Ladli Behna Yojana: A Flagship Women Welfare Scheme

The Ladli Behna Yojana continues to be one of Madhya Pradesh’s flagship welfare programs aimed at strengthening the financial condition of women.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Resident of Madhya Pradesh
  • Annual family income below ₹2.5 lakh
  • No government employee in the family
  • No four-wheeler ownership
  • Landholding less than 5 acres

Eligible Beneficiaries:

  • Married women
  • Widows
  • Divorced and deserted women
  • Age group: 21–60 years

The scheme is widely seen as a major step toward financial inclusion and empowerment of women, enabling millions of beneficiaries to contribute to household expenses and gain economic independence.
