Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the removal of encroachments from Waqf properties in the state is a “historic achievement” and described the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board as the best-performing Waqf board in the country.
Speaking at the scholarship distribution program organized by the Madhya Pradesh State Waqf Board at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal, the Chief Minister highlighted reforms, transparency measures, and educational support initiatives for minority communities.
Scholarships Distributed to 849 Students
During the event, scholarships were distributed to 849 students under the “Padho-Padhao Aur Rashtra Nirman Mein Bhagidar Bano” initiative.
CM Mohan Yadav said the state government is committed to supporting education for minority community students and ensuring equal opportunities for boys and girls to achieve their dreams through education.
He emphasized that education remains a key tool for empowerment and nation-building.
MP Waqf Board Recognized for Transparency Reforms
The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a leading state in Waqf reforms due to the digitization of Waqf properties through the Umeed Portal.
Key reforms highlighted include:
- Online registration of Waqf properties
- Transparent record management
- Prevention of illegal encroachments
- Improved property management systems
The state received the prestigious SKOCH Award for implementing transparent digital systems for Waqf property management.
Historic Action Against Encroachments
CM Yadav said the new Waqf laws and reforms have helped secure Waqf properties and prevent illegal occupation.
He stated that:
- Encroachments on Waqf properties are being removed
- Waqf assets are now better protected
- Revenue generation opportunities for Waqf boards have increased
According to the Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh is playing a leading role in implementing transparent governance in the Waqf sector.
Tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam and Captain Hamid
During the program, CM Mohan Yadav remembered former President and scientist A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and announced that a new Waqf building would be named after him.
He also paid tribute to war hero Abdul Hamid for his bravery during the India-Pakistan war, calling him a symbol of courage and patriotism.
Message of Harmony and National Unity
The Chief Minister referred to poets Rahim and Raskhan while highlighting India’s tradition of communal harmony and coexistence.
He said India’s strength lies in:
- Respect for law and constitutional values
- Cultural harmony across communities
- Unity in diversity
CM Yadav also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for introducing reforms aimed at transparency and better governance in Waqf administration.
Focus on Education and Social Welfare
Waqf Board Chairman Dr. Sanwar Patel said the board is actively working to reduce school and college dropout rates among girls and support financially weaker students in pursuing higher education, including medical studies.
Additional initiatives announced include:
- Better management of Waqf assets
- Plantation drive of 5 lakh saplings on Waqf properties
- Educational infrastructure development
Officials said transparent management systems have helped expose illegal property misuse and improve public trust.
The scholarship distribution event highlighted the Madhya Pradesh government’s focus on Waqf reforms, transparency, minority education, and property protection. With digitization initiatives, anti-encroachment measures, and educational support programs, the state aims to position itself as a model for Waqf administration and inclusive governance in India.
