CM Mohan Yadav Launches PM Shri Heli Tourism Service on Bhopal–Chanderi–Orchha Route to Boost Religious Tourism

Helicopter “Pushpak Viman” service aims to enhance connectivity, cut travel time, and promote heritage tourism with affordable packages across major destinations

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday inaugurated the PM Shri Heli Tourism Service under the new Bhopal–Chanderi–Orchha helicopter route from the State Hangar in Bhopal. The initiative is being positioned as a major step toward making religious and heritage tourism faster, safer, and more convenient in the state.

The Chief Minister described the initiative as a “Pushpak Viman-like” facility aimed at providing seamless aerial connectivity to important pilgrimage and heritage destinations.

Boost to Religious and Heritage Tourism in Madhya Pradesh

Speaking at the launch, CM Dr. Yadav said that Orchha, where Lord Ram is worshipped as a king, holds immense spiritual significance, and the heli service will make it easier for devotees to visit sacred places.

He added that Chanderi and Orchha are historically and culturally rich destinations linked with mythology, spirituality, and heritage tourism, making them key attractions for visitors.

A Step Towards Faster and Comfortable Travel

The new heli tourism service is designed to reduce travel time and improve accessibility to remote heritage sites. According to the government, the service will:

  • Improve tourist connectivity
  • Reduce travel time significantly
  • Enhance travel experience for pilgrims and tourists
  • Support regional tourism infrastructure

The government believes this will make travel not just faster but also more experiential and comfortable.

Economic Growth and Employment Generation Through Tourism

CM Yadav highlighted that tourism is a strong driver of economic development. He said the expansion of heli tourism will:

  • Increase tourism-related activities
  • Generate new employment opportunities
  • Boost local businesses and services
  • Strengthen the state’s economy through increased visitor flow

He emphasized that tourism expansion leads to automatic economic activity generation in surrounding regions.

Route Details and Ticket Pricing

Under the new service, three key travel routes have been introduced:

  • Bhopal to Chanderi: ₹5,500
  • Chanderi to Orchha: ₹2,750
  • Bhopal to Orchha: ₹6,500
  • Full package (Bhopal–Chanderi–Orchha): ₹14,500

The package includes helicopter travel, taxi services, and temple darshan arrangements.

Modern 6-Seater Helicopter and Booking System

The service operates with a 6-seater modern helicopter to ensure safety and comfort. Passengers can book tickets through:

  • Flyola official website
  • IRCTC portal

The government has also announced financial support through matching grants to promote tourism infrastructure.

Push for Aviation and Tourism Infrastructure in MP

CM Yadav noted that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly expanding its aviation and transport infrastructure, including:

  • Air connectivity expansion
  • Rail and road network development
  • Focus on water transport systems

He added that several states are now studying Madhya Pradesh’s aviation and tourism model for adoption.

Launch Coincides with Parshuram Jayanti

The launch event also coincided with Lord Parshuram Jayanti, which CM Yadav described as symbolic of courage, justice, and inspiration.

He extended greetings on the occasion and dedicated the new heli tourism initiative to the spirit of cultural and spiritual heritage.

The PM Shri Heli Tourism Service marks a significant step in Madhya Pradesh’s push toward modern, experience-driven tourism. By connecting spiritual and heritage destinations through air travel, the state aims to position itself as a leading tourism hub in India while boosting employment and economic growth.
