CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates ₹18 Crore Modern Road Project in Ujjain Ahead of Simhastha 2028 Development Drive

Ujjain: Mohan Yadav has said that continuous development works are being carried out in Ujjain city under preparations for the Simhastha Mahaparv 2028, with a special focus on beautification and modern infrastructure.

During his visit on Sunday, the Chief Minister inaugurated a major road widening and upgradation project worth ₹18 crore and interacted with local residents.

₹18 Crore Road Project Inaugurated in Ujjain

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Kothi Road Complex to Dewas Road and Vikram Nagar connectivity project, developed by the municipal corporation.

The upgraded road is approximately 2.1 km long and is being described as one of the most modern and aesthetically developed roads in the city.

Modern Infrastructure with Green and Smart Features

The project includes several urban development features such as:

  • Widened road (18m to 24m depending on stretch)
  • Modern street lighting system
  • Improved drainage system
  • Dedicated pedestrian walkways with paver blocks
  • Landscaping and plantation along the divider
  • Protection of existing trees and greenery

Officials said the design ensures both environmental balance and improved traffic flow.

Boost to Connectivity and Public Convenience

The new road will provide easy access to key locations including the district court complex and other administrative offices.

It is expected to reduce traffic congestion while ensuring safer and smoother movement for residents and visitors.

Cultural Welcome and Public Interaction

During the inauguration, Vedic chanting and traditional rituals were performed by students, while cultural groups presented musical performances.

The Chief Minister also interacted with local residents and reviewed the development work on foot along the newly constructed road.

Simhastha 2028 Preparations in Full Swing

The development works are part of large-scale preparations for the upcoming Simhastha Mahaparv 2028, one of the largest religious gatherings in India.

The government aims to transform Ujjain into a modern, well-connected, and spiritually significant city ahead of the mega event.
