Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a series of major initiatives aimed at strengthening policing, criminal investigations, and cyber security across the state. During a review meeting of the Home Department, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to modernize law enforcement agencies and equip police personnel with advanced resources to tackle emerging challenges, including cybercrime and the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI).
The meeting also focused on improving investigative capabilities, enhancing police welfare, and preparing security infrastructure for the upcoming Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain.
Government Considers Investigation Allowance for Police Officers
One of the key proposals discussed was the introduction of an investigation allowance for police officers responsible for criminal investigations.
According to officials, the proposed allowance would help officers cover expenses incurred during investigations, including:
- Travel to crime scenes
- Collection and preservation of evidence
- Photography and videography of crime scenes
- Digital forensic investigations
- Transportation and support for accused persons, witnesses, and victims
- Other operational and judicial process-related expenses
The state government is studying similar provisions implemented in other states before finalizing the proposal.
CM Directs Police to Remain Vigilant on Law and Order
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed police personnel at all levels—from senior officers to constables—to remain alert and proactive in maintaining law and order throughout the state.
He stressed that effective policing requires continuous monitoring, rapid response mechanisms, and active coordination among various law enforcement units.
The Chief Minister said the government remains committed to providing the police force with modern tools and infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and public safety.
Cyber Crime and AI Misuse Become Key Focus Areas
With cybercrime cases increasing across the country, the Chief Minister directed the Home Department to strengthen the state’s cyber security framework.
Key decisions discussed during the meeting include:
- Appointment of IT consultants and cyber experts
- Strengthening the State Cyber Cell

The meeting also approved the development of “Safeguard MP,” an AI-powered safety platform designed to enhance protection for vulnerable sections of society.
The initiative aims to improve security for:
- Women
- Senior citizens
- Children
- Other vulnerable individuals
The proposed platform is expected to use advanced technology and data-driven monitoring to strengthen preventive policing and emergency response systems.
Simhastha 2028 Preparations Reviewed
The Chief Minister also reviewed preparations for Simhastha 2028, one of the largest religious gatherings in the country, to be held in Ujjain.
He emphasized that infrastructure created for the event should provide long-term benefits to the city even after the festival concludes.
Areas under review included:
- Crowd management systems
- Traffic and transportation planning
- Disaster management preparedness
- Security and surveillance infrastructure
- Control rooms and command centers
The Chief Minister said permanent infrastructure should be developed around major religious sites, including the revered Mahakal Temple area, to support future needs and improve urban management.
Police Recruitment and Specialized Training Reforms
The meeting also reviewed several structural reforms aimed at enhancing police efficiency and preparedness.
Major proposals include:
- Establishment of the Madhya Pradesh Police Selection and Recruitment Board
- Deployment of district-level Crime Scene Mobile Units
- Special allowances for personnel assigned to VVIP duties
- Capacity enhancement of specialized forces through advanced training institutes
The government is also working to strengthen elite units such as:
- Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS)
- Special Task Force (STF)
- Hawk Force
These measures are intended to improve operational readiness and response capabilities against organized crime, terrorism, and other security threats.
Focus on Technology-Driven Policing
The Madhya Pradesh government is increasingly focusing on technology-based policing solutions to improve investigations and law enforcement.
The strategy includes:
