Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved an outlay of ₹36,006.22 crore for the continuation of the centrally sponsored Samagra Shiksha Scheme for five years from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
The education decision was part of a larger set of Cabinet approvals involving proposals worth more than ₹42,490 crore across education, irrigation, transport, horticulture, administration and welfare.
₹36,006 Crore for Samagra Shiksha Till 2031
The approved allocation will support the continuation of Samagra Shiksha in Madhya Pradesh for the next five financial years.

The scheme covers school education from pre-primary to Class 12 and includes measures related to:
- Improving learning outcomes
- Reducing social and gender disparities in school education
- Promoting equity and inclusion
- Supporting vocational education
- Implementing the Right to Education Act
- Strengthening teacher-training institutions such as SCERT and DIETs
₹2,600 Crore-Plus Approved for Irrigation Projects
The Cabinet also approved more than ₹2,600 crore for three irrigation projects in the state.
These include:
- Chitawad Major Irrigation Project in Ujjain — ₹1,846 crore
- Gaund Major Irrigation Project in Singrauli — ₹749 crore
- Chanderi Micro Irrigation Project in Ashoknagar — ₹11 crore
Together, the projects are expected to create irrigation potential covering more than 1.27 lakh hectares.
Transport and Horticulture Schemes Continued
The Cabinet approved ₹1,166 crore for the continuation of 11 Transport Department schemes.
Another ₹491 crore was approved for the continuation of eight Horticulture Department schemes, with the government stating that these programmes are aimed at increasing farmers’ incomes.
New Posts Approved in Districts and Schools
To strengthen the administrative setup, the Cabinet approved:
- 21 new posts for establishing mineral branch offices in the newly formed districts of Maihar, Mauganj and Pandhurna.
- 36 regular posts for four upgraded schools in Anuppur and Shahdol.
The Cabinet also ratified an additional ₹250 special assistance for beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Scheme on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The decisions form part of the Madhya Pradesh government’s wider set of approvals covering school education, irrigation, transport, horticulture, administrative infrastructure and welfare programmes.
