New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) organised a mass cleaning drive in Neyveli on October 1, 2026, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign. More than 5,000 participants, including NLCIL employees, workmen, school students, CISF personnel and community members, took part in cleanliness activities across Neyveli Township.
The initiative focused on promoting cleanliness, civic responsibility, environmental awareness and community participation, while encouraging people to make cleanliness a regular part of everyday life.
NLCIL Mass Cleaning Drive Flagged Off in Neyveli
The mass cleaning drive was flagged off at 7:00 AM at Anna Thidal, Block-17, Neyveli Township.
The programme was flagged off by Samir Swarup, Director (HR) and Director (Power) holding additional charge, NLCIL. Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, Director (P&P), NLCIL, was also present during the programme.
The event witnessed participation from senior officials, employees and workmen representing various industrial and service units of NLCIL.

Over 5,000 People Participate in Swachhata Drive
The large-scale cleanliness campaign brought together people from different sections of the Neyveli community.

- Representatives of recognised trade unions
- Officers’ associations and welfare federations
- Members of the local community and public

Samir Swarup Highlights Importance of Everyday Cleanliness
Addressing the participants, Samir Swarup emphasised that cleanliness should become a part of everyday life rather than remain limited to specific campaigns.
He also stressed the importance of continued public participation in maintaining clean workplaces, residential areas and public spaces.
The enthusiastic participation of school students was highlighted as an indication of growing awareness of cleanliness and civic responsibility among younger citizens.
Participants were encouraged to carry the message of Swachhata beyond the campaign period and continue contributing to cleaner surroundings.

Following the flag-off, participants carried out cleaning activities at multiple locations across Neyveli Township.
The drive provided employees, students and community members with an opportunity to translate the message of Swachhata into practical action.
