New Delhi: NTPC Green Energy Limited has successfully commissioned 90 MW of solar power capacity under its Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat, marking another milestone in India’s renewable energy expansion.

The development was officially disclosed under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, highlighting the company’s continued progress in strengthening its clean energy portfolio.

Commercial Operations Begin from April 25, 2026

According to the company’s filing, the newly commissioned 90 MW capacity became operational from 00:00 hours on April 25, 2026.

This capacity is part of the larger 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project and represents the seventh operational segment of the mega renewable energy initiative.

Developed Under NTPC Renewable Energy Limited

The project has been developed through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.

The commissioning reflects the group’s structured approach to scaling renewable assets through phased project execution.

Total Installed Capacity Crosses 10,450 MW

With the addition of this 90 MW solar capacity, NTPC Green Energy Limited’s total operational capacity has increased significantly:

  • Previous capacity: 10,363.90 MW
  • New total capacity: 10,453.90 MW

This expansion reinforces the company’s position as a key player in India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

Gujarat: A Key Hub for Solar Energy Projects

The Khavda-II Solar PV Project is located in Gujarat, one of India’s प्रमुख renewable energy hubs known for large-scale solar installations.

The region offers favorable conditions for solar power generation, making it a strategic location for mega projects like Khavda.

Regulatory Compliance and Market Disclosure

The company has submitted the update to both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited, ensuring compliance with regulatory norms under SEBI guidelines.
