New Delhi: Kamal Nath Thakur, a senior professional associated with NTPC Limited, has been nominated as a member of the Internal Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).
Thakur, who is currently associated with NTPC’s Corporate Internal Audit Department, brings more than three decades of professional experience in internal audit, project financing, treasury, corporate governance and internal controls.
Kamal Nath Thakur Nominated to ICMAI’s IAASB
Thakur will contribute to the work of the Internal Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, which focuses on advancing internal auditing and assurance practices.
His responsibilities as an IAASB member will include contributing his professional expertise to areas such as:

- Risk management
- Internal controls

His professional qualifications and experience span both cost and management accounting and corporate governance-related areas.
Currently Working in NTPC Corporate Internal Audit Department
Thakur is currently associated with NTPC Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, where he works in the Corporate Internal Audit Department.
His current role gives him extensive exposure to internal audit, controls and governance processes within a large public sector organisation.
His professional experience is expected to add value to the IAASB’s efforts to improve the quality, relevance and effectiveness of internal auditing and assurance practices.
