KPI Green Energy Expands Footprint with Major Utility-Scale Solar Project Including Long-Term O&M and AMC Contract

Rajasthan: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has awarded Notifications of Award (NOAs) to KPI Green Energy Limited for a 500 MW grid-connected solar PV project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The total contract value stands at ₹621 crore (excluding GST), marking a significant development in India’s renewable energy expansion.

Project Split into Two Large Solar Blocks

The solar project has been divided into two segments:

  • 300 MW block worth ₹367 crore
  • 200 MW block worth ₹254 crore

This structure allows phased execution of the large-scale renewable energy project in Rajasthan.

Scope Includes Full Engineering and Maintenance Work

KPI Green Energy will handle end-to-end execution of the project, including:

  • Supply of plant and equipment
  • Inland transportation and insurance
  • Installation, testing, and commissioning
  • Civil and allied infrastructure work
  • Operation & Maintenance (O&M) for 3 years after COD
  • Additional 10-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC)

This ensures long-term involvement in project performance and upkeep.

Strategic Entry into Rajasthan’s Renewable Hub

The project marks KPI Green Energy’s entry into Rajasthan, one of India’s most important solar energy hubs. The state is known for its high solar potential and strong renewable infrastructure development.

The contract significantly expands the company’s geographic presence and strengthens its position in the utility-scale solar energy segment.

Supports India’s Clean Energy Goals

The project aligns with the Government of India’s broader push to increase renewable energy capacity and develop sustainable infrastructure.

It is expected to:

  • Boost solar energy generation capacity
  • Support green energy transition
  • Strengthen private sector participation in renewables
  • Create long-term value in the clean energy ecosystem

Execution Timeline and Compliance

KPI Green Energy confirmed that the project will be executed as per the terms mentioned in the NOAs and agreed schedules. The company also stated that the transaction is not a related-party deal.
