New Delhi: The Government of India has approved a series of important administrative appointments and deputation-related decisions involving senior officers across key ministries and institutions.
The approvals, cleared through Office Memoranda issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), include an appointment at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), extension of deputation tenure for a senior ITS officer, and continuation of additional charge at a major port authority.
IRS Officer Pryati Sharma Appointed Deputy Director at LBSNAA
Under the Central Staffing Scheme, Ms Pryati Sharma (IRS-IT: 2015) has been appointed as Deputy Director at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
According to the order, she will serve:
- For a tenure of four years
- At the Deputy Secretary level
- From the date of assumption of charge or until further orders
The order also reiterates the Centre’s joining guidelines, under which officers are expected to assume charge within three weeks of issuance of appointment orders. Failure to do so may lead to debarment proceedings under existing deputation rules.
LBSNAA, located in Mussoorie, is India’s premier civil services training institution and serves as the foundational academy for IAS and other civil service officers.
ITS Officer Shobhendra Bahadur Gets One-Year Deputation Extension
In another major decision, the ACC has approved a one-year extension in the central deputation tenure of Shri Shobhendra Bahadur (ITS: 1994).
Bahadur is currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
As per the order:
- His deputation tenure has been extended up to August 30, 2027
- Or until further orders, whichever is earlier
The extension ensures continuity in key digital governance and technology-related administrative functions being handled by the ministry.
M. Angamuthu Gets Extended Additional Charge of Visakhapatnam Port Authority
The government has also approved continuation of additional responsibility for Shri M. Angamuthu (IAS: 2002).
Currently serving as Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, Angamuthu has been granted:
- Additional charge of Chairperson, Visakhapatnam Port Authority
- For a further period of six months
- Up to September 21, 2026
- Or until a regular appointment is made
The extension is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted administrative functioning at one of India’s major port authorities.
