New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the supply, erection, installation, testing and commissioning of wind turbine generators (WTGs) for a 600 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind energy project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
The proposed project will comprise 200 WTGs, with each turbine having a minimum rated capacity of 3 MW. NTPC REL has set September 15, 2026 as the deadline for bid submission.
600 MW Wind Project to Feature 200 WTGs
The tender covers the development of a 600 MW nominal-capacity wind power project in Anantapur.
The selected bidder will be responsible for the complete WTG supply and installation package, covering activities from detailed engineering and manufacturing to erection, testing and commissioning.
The key requirements include:
- Project capacity: 600 MW
- Number of WTGs: 200
- Minimum WTG capacity: 3 MW each
- Location: Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh
- Connectivity: ISTS-connected
- Bid submission deadline: September 15, 2026
- WTG requirement: Models must be listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)

Comprehensive WTG Supply and Installation Scope
Under the tender, the successful bidder will undertake the detailed design and engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, installation, testing and commissioning of the WTGs within the wind farm.
The scope will also cover the equipment and systems required for operating and monitoring the wind power project, including:
- Control panels
- SCADA systems
- Controls
- System software
- Associated equipment
The contractor will also be responsible for establishing the guaranteed performance parameters of the project through the installation and commissioning of the offered WTGs and associated systems.
Unit Substations and Grid Integration Included
The tender also includes the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Unit Substations (USSs) associated with each WTG.
The selected bidder will undertake the electrical works required for integrating the wind turbines with the grid.
This forms an important part of the overall package for connecting the 600 MW wind project to the ISTS network.
Civil and Balance-of-Plant Works
The scope of work extends beyond the supply and installation of wind turbines and electrical equipment.
The successful bidder will also undertake associated civil works required for the installation of the WTGs and their unit substations.
These works will include:
- Foundations for WTG towers
- Foundations for associated unit substations
- Control cabins near tower bases, wherever required
- Other related civil works necessary for installation and operation
10-Year Comprehensive O&M Contract
A key feature of the NTPC REL tender is the provision for 10 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the supplied system.
The O&M period will begin after commissioning of the project and will cover the WTGs and associated unit substations.
During the O&M period, the contractor will be responsible for:
- Supply of required spare parts
- Supply of consumables
- Repairs and maintenance
- Replacement of defective equipment
- Supporting reliable operation of the WTGs and USSs
The long-term O&M arrangement is intended to support sustained performance and reliable operation of the wind assets during the initial decade of the project.
NTPC Group Expands Renewable Energy Portfolio
The tender is part of NTPC Group’s broader renewable energy expansion strategy, with the group increasing its focus on large-scale wind and solar power projects.

NTPC REL has invited eligible bidders to participate in the tender for the 600 MW wind project.
The deadline for submission of bids is September 15, 2026. The tender seeks an end-to-end partner capable of supplying, installing, commissioning and maintaining the ALMM-listed WTGs and associated systems.
