Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Home Department has transferred two young Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in a reshuffle involving the Governor’s office and the Bhubaneswar-Kataka Police Commissionerate.
The changes were notified through two separate orders issued on August 24, 2026, with the latest postings bringing fresh officers into key and sensitive assignments.
According to Notification No. 30766/IPS dated August 24, 2026, Ananya Awasthi, IPS (RR:2022), who was serving as Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha, has been transferred and posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar-Kataka.
In a related order, Memo No. 30767/IPS, the government transferred Anugu Shiva Maruthi Reddy, IPS (RR:2023), from his present posting as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), G. Udaygiri, and appointed him as the new ADC to the Governor of Odisha.
Ananya Awasthi Moved to Bhubaneswar-Kataka Commissionerate
Ananya Awasthi, a 2022-batch Odisha-cadre IPS officer, has been shifted from her assignment in the Governor’s office to an operational policing role.
She will now serve as ACP in the Bhubaneswar-Kataka Police Commissionerate, one of the state’s important urban policing formations.

Her new assignment places her in a role involving policing and law-and-order responsibilities in the Bhubaneswar-Kataka twin-city area, marking a shift from her previous ceremonial and administrative responsibilities as the Governor’s ADC.
Anugu Shiva Maruthi Reddy Appointed Governor’s ADC
Meanwhile, Anugu Shiva Maruthi Reddy, IPS (RR:2023), has been moved from his field posting as SDPO, G. Udaygiri, to the Governor’s office.
He has been appointed as Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Odisha, succeeding Ananya Awasthi in the position.
The ADC assignment is considered a prominent posting for a young IPS officer, involving responsibilities associated with the Governor’s office and official engagements.
Reshuffle Brings Fresh Leadership to Key Roles
The posting of Ananya Awasthi to the Bhubaneswar-Kataka Commissionerate gives the officer an opportunity to take up an active urban policing assignment, while Anugu Shiva Maruthi Reddy’s appointment as Governor’s ADC brings a new officer into the Governor’s establishment.
The reshuffle is part of the regular cadre-management process through which the Odisha government moves officers between field, administrative and specialised assignments.
With the latest orders, both officers will take up responsibilities in their respective new positions as directed by the state government.
