PESB Invites Applications for Managing Director Post at Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (BCPL) – Details Inside

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has officially called for applications to fill the post of Managing Director (MD) at Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited (BCPL). The position has been vacant since October 1, 2024, and the board is now seeking qualified professionals from both public and private sectors to apply.

Application Window and Eligibility

The official advertisement, released on July 25, 2025, invites eligible candidates with a strong professional background to apply for the top leadership role at BCPL. Interested applicants must submit their applications by August 28, 2025.

Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited (BCPL) is India’s first government-owned pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturer, established in Kolkata in 1901 by Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray to promote self-sufficiency and indigenous technology. While it faced a period of losses and was taken over by the Union government in 1977 and nationalized in 1980, it returned to profitability in 2016-17.
