New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Ravindra Ghattuwar for appointment as Director (Production & Planning) at MOIL Limited, following the selection process in which 12 candidates were interviewed on July 30, 2026.
Ghattuwar is currently serving as General Manager (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Limited. If approved by the competent authority, he will succeed Mr. Mirza Mohammad Abdulla, who has been serving as Director (Production & Planning) at MOIL since January 2022.
The appointment is subject to the final approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
PESB Recommends Ravindra Ghattuwar for MOIL Board-Level Position
The PESB recommended Ravindra Ghattuwar after considering the profiles of 12 applicants for the key Director-level position.
As Director (Production & Planning), Ghattuwar would be responsible for overseeing important areas related to the company’s mining and production activities.
His responsibilities are expected to include:
- Managing mining operations.
- Improving production efficiency.
- Supporting production planning.
- Coordinating corporate planning activities.
- Overseeing project development and related initiatives.
The appointment will provide leadership for MOIL’s production and planning functions at the Board level.

12 Candidates Interviewed for the Director Post
The PESB interviewed the following 12 candidates for the position of Director (Production & Planning), MOIL Limited:
- Mr. Rajesh Bhattacharya – Chief General Manager (Project and Diversification), MOIL Limited.
- Mr. Manoj Kumar – Chief General Manager (Mines), Balaghat, MOIL Limited.
- Mr. Ashok Kumar Mishra – Chief General Manager and Head of Works (Donimalai), NMDC Limited.
- Mr. Tarak Nath Nayak – General Manager (Engineering Services), Hindustan Copper Limited.
- Mr. Ravindra Ghattuwar – General Manager (Mining), Hindustan Copper Limited.
- Dr. Ashutosh Roul – Chief General Manager (Pottangi Mines), National Aluminium Company Limited.
- Mr. Deb Kumar Kundu – Chief General Manager and Head of Project (Coal), NMDC Limited.
- Mr. Suraj Kumar – Deputy General Manager and Head of Mines, NMDC Limited.
- Mr. Sudhir Rajeshwar Singh – Deputy General Manager (Mining), NMDC Limited.
- Mr. Binay Kumar – Managing Director and CEO, ICVL.
- Mr. Vishal Shukla – Chief General Manager and Unit Head, SAIL Refractory Unit Bhilai, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
- Mr. Abhay B Bhagat – Chief General Manager, NLC India Limited.
Following the interviews, the PESB selected and recommended Ravindra Ghattuwar for the post.
MOIL Director Post to Fall Vacant on September 1
The post of Director (Production & Planning) at MOIL is scheduled to become vacant on September 1, 2026, following the superannuation of the incumbent, Mr. Mirza Mohammad Abdulla.
Abdulla has been holding the position since January 2022.
The PESB’s recommendation is part of the process to ensure a smooth transition and continuity in leadership at the company.
ACC Approval Required Before Final Appointment
The PESB recommendation is not the final appointment decision.
The proposal will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.
If the ACC clears the recommendation, Ravindra Ghattuwar will take charge as the full-time Director (Production & Planning) and become part of MOIL’s Board-level leadership.
The appointment is expected to ensure continued oversight of the company’s mining operations, production planning and project development activities.
