Former IAS officer Pradeep Jena resigned from his post as Chairman of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) on Monday, citing personal reasons.
The resignation has been formally acknowledged by the Odisha Government’s Department of Energy and OERC authorities.

Served as OERC Chairman Since April 2025
Pradeep Jena had taken oath as Chairman of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission on April 8, 2025.
He was administered the oath of office by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
Veteran Bureaucrat Held Top Administrative Roles
Before joining the OERC, Jena served as the Chief Secretary of Odisha and was regarded as one of the state’s senior-most bureaucrats.
His resignation comes just over a year after assuming charge of the state’s electricity regulatory body.
Government Yet to Announce Successor
The Odisha government has not yet announced who will succeed Jena as OERC Chairman.
