New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer Prasanna Venkatesh V, a 2012-batch officer, has been appointed Director of the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Department of Higher Education.
The Centre has appointed him under the Central Staffing Scheme for a five-year tenure, according to orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). He will now lead the agency responsible for conducting several major entrance and eligibility examinations across India.

He also served as the Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner, handling civic administration in one of Andhra Pradesh’s major urban centres. His experience in both district administration and municipal governance adds to his administrative profile as he takes charge of the NTA.
