Chandigarh: In a significant administrative exercise, the Punjab government on Tuesday ordered the transfer and posting of eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect. The reshuffle has been carried out on administrative grounds and is aimed at strengthening key functional verticals of the Punjab Police.

The transfer orders were issued by the Department of Home Affairs (Home-I Branch) through an order of the Governor of Punjab, bearing the approval of the competent authority.

According to the order dated January 20, 2026, all concerned officers have been directed to join their new places of posting immediately. Copies of the order have been circulated to all relevant authorities for information and necessary compliance.
