Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a series of high-level meetings with business leaders, sports personalities, and agricultural experts during his visit to the Netherlands, focusing on boosting trade, investment, sports development, and agricultural innovation in Punjab.
Strengthening Punjab–Netherlands Trade and Investment Ties
During a meeting with the Netherlands-India Chamber of Commerce and Trade delegation led by Chairperson Edith Nardmann, CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Punjab and the Netherlands.
He highlighted Punjab’s focus on:
- Value-added manufacturing
- Export-driven growth
- Integration with global supply chains
- Expansion of food processing and manufacturing sectors
The Chief Minister also urged the chamber to connect Dutch industries with Punjab through sector-specific partnerships and trade delegations.
Investor Roadshow Highlights Punjab’s Industrial Potential
At an investment roadshow in The Hague, the Chief Minister showcased Punjab’s industrial strengths, skilled workforce, and progressive policy framework.
He noted that Punjab offers:
- Investor-friendly governance
- Modern industrial infrastructure
- Skilled manpower availability
- Fast-track approval systems
He also promoted the Fast Track Punjab Portal, which provides single-window clearance and time-bound approvals for investors.
CM Mann invited global investors by stating, “Come to Punjab, invest and grow.”
Punjab Industrial Policy 2026 to Drive Growth
The Chief Minister highlighted that Punjab’s Industrial and Business Development Policy 2026 is among the most competitive in India. The policy is designed to simplify business operations and attract large-scale investments in key sectors.
Boosting Sports Collaboration with Dutch Hockey Legend
CM Mann met Olympic medalist and Dutch hockey legend Floris Jan Bovelander during his Netherlands visit.
He praised Bovelander’s global contribution to hockey and extended an invitation to visit Punjab. The hockey legend has accepted the invitation and is expected to interact with Punjab’s young athletes ahead of the upcoming Asia Hockey Championship.
The Chief Minister said the state is committed to reviving Punjab’s golden era in hockey and strengthening its sports culture.
Tulip Garden Visit Highlights Agricultural Innovation
CM Mann also visited the famous Tulip Garden in the Netherlands, where he interacted with General Director Sandra Bechtholt and her team.
He studied the advanced floriculture model featuring:
- Nearly 7 million flower bulbs
- 7–8 week blooming cycle
- 32-hectare structured cultivation system
He described it as a world-class example of innovation, planning, and marketing in agriculture.
Vision for Modern and Prosperous Punjab
The Chief Minister said Punjab aims to adopt similar modern agricultural and industrial practices to boost farmer incomes and create new opportunities for youth.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a modern, progressive, and globally competitive “Rangla Punjab.”
The Netherlands visit reflects Punjab’s multi-sector approach to global engagement, combining investment promotion, sports development, and agricultural innovation.
