Varanasi: A review meeting on development works monitored through the Chief Minister Dashboard was held at the Circuit House auditorium in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by IAS Dr. Raj Shekhar, a 2004-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Secretary of Planning and Director General of Economics and Statistics, and District Nodal Officer.
The meeting focused on the implementation of public welfare schemes, achievement of targets, and the grading and ranking of physical progress of various development projects.
Review of Development Schemes and Projects
During the meeting, Dr. Raj Shekhar conducted a detailed review of projects and programmes placed under Categories B, C and D of the Chief Minister Dashboard.
The schemes and projects reviewed included:
- Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural) under Category B
- Family ID initiative
- Fifth State Finance Commission (Gram Panchayat)
- Project Alankar
- New road construction
- Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme
- Janani Suraksha Yojana under Category C
- ICDS Nutrition Campaign
- CMIS construction works under Category D
Dr. Raj Shekhar emphasised that officers should take personal interest in achieving the required targets and improving the grading and rankings of development works.

Jal Jeevan Mission Works to Be Completed on Time
Dr. Raj Shekhar directed officials to complete all works under the Har Ghar Nal Jal Yojana within the scheduled timeframe through proper micro plans.
He also instructed officials to ensure that monthly updates on functional household tap connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission are continuously reflected on the official portal.
Family ID Progress to Reach 100%
The meeting noted that progress under the Family ID initiative had reached 88%.
Dr. Raj Shekhar directed officials to achieve the remaining target and ensure 100% completion.
He also instructed officials to finalise preparations for the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme promptly so that the prescribed targets are achieved within the stipulated period.
100% Payments Under Janani Suraksha Yojana
Officials were directed to ensure 100% payments under the Janani Suraksha Yojana.
The meeting also reviewed the condition of roads following rain-related damage. Dr. Raj Shekhar instructed officials to accelerate the removal of potholes and undertake necessary repairs.
Road Repair Campaign to Begin From October 1
The construction, widening and strengthening of new roads under the Public Works Department’s Construction and Provincial Divisions were given priority during the meeting. Dr. Raj Shekhar directed the department to identify and mark roads requiring repairs and launch a campaign from October 1 for patchwork and special repairs.
The Municipal Corporation was also directed to expedite road repair works identified within its jurisdiction.
CMIS Portal Updates Must Be Timely
Rajshekhar stressed the need for timely and accurate updates of the physical and financial progress of construction projects on the CMIS portal. He directed all departments to ensure that construction-related data is regularly updated on the portal so that the progress of projects can be accurately monitored.
All departmental construction works were also directed to be completed by December.
Senior District Officials Attend Review Meeting
The meeting was attended by District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, Chief Development Officer Prakhar Kumar Singh, and officials from various departments.
The officials were directed to closely monitor their respective schemes and development projects and ensure that targets are achieved within the prescribed timelines.
