New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, has handed over Ranipur Chunar Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to successful bidder H G Infra Engineering Limited for development of an intra-state transmission project in Uttar Pradesh.
The SPV handover took place on September 26, 2026, following the successful completion of the bidding process for the project. H G Infra Engineering emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the Bid Process Coordinator.
The project will be developed under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model and is aimed at strengthening the intra-state power transmission network in Uttar Pradesh.
Ranipur Chunar Transmission Project: Key Highlights
The project involves the development of new transmission infrastructure across Mau and Mirzapur districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Major components include:
- 220/132/33 kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) at Ranipur in Mau
- 220/132/33 kV AIS at Chunar in Mirzapur
