Bhopal: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has appointed Sanjeev Shrivastava, IAS (2011 batch), as the Additional Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD). Prior to this, he was serving as the Collector of Bhind District, where he played a key role in infrastructure enhancement and streamlining public service delivery.

Known for his hands-on approach and efficient administration, Shrivastava is expected to bring his extensive field experience to the PWD, which oversees the development and maintenance of roads, public buildings, and critical infrastructure across the state.

Past Controversy: Shrivastava’s Face-off with BJP MLA

Shrivastava made headlines recently after a heated confrontation with BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha over issues related to fertilizer distribution and alleged sand smuggling. The incident involved verbal threats and an attempted physical altercation, drawing national attention and raising concerns over the working conditions faced by bureaucrats.

Abhishek Kumar (IFoS) Repatriated to Gujarat Cadre

The Government of India has approved the premature repatriation of Abhishek Kumar, Indian Forest Service officer (2013 batch, Gujarat cadre), from his central deputation in the Ministry of Cooperation, where he was serving as Deputy Secretary.

The repatriation, approved on personal grounds, was confirmed via an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on October 10, 2025. The order mentions that Kumar will return to his parent cadre with an extended cooling-off period. He has been instructed to relieve his duties immediately and report to the Gujarat cadre.
