New Delhi: SJVN Limited, a leading Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Power, has promoted six senior executives to the position of Executive Director across key functions, including Civil, Electrical, Human Resources and Finance & Accounts.
The promotions bring decades of combined professional experience and domain expertise to the company’s senior leadership team. The newly appointed Executive Directors are expected to contribute to SJVN’s operational performance and strategic growth as the company continues to expand its hydro and renewable energy portfolio.
Six Senior Executives Promoted to Executive Director
The six officers promoted to the position of Executive Director are:
- Rajesh Kumar Sharma – Executive Director (Civil)
- Baljeet Singh – Executive Director (HR)
- Rakesh Sehgal – Executive Director (Civil)
- Vikas Marwah – Executive Director (Electrical)
- Jitendra Yadav – Executive Director (Finance & Accounts)
- Balak Ram Sethi – Executive Director (Finance & Accounts)
The newly promoted executives bring extensive experience across critical areas of power-sector operations, project execution, human resource management and financial administration.

SJVN Gains Greater Autonomy After Navratna Status
SJVN was conferred Navratna status by the Department of Public Enterprises in August 2024, becoming the 25th Navratna CPSE in the country.
The Navratna status provides the company with greater autonomy and enhanced flexibility in decision-making, allowing it to pursue strategic investments and business expansion more effectively.
The recognition marked an important milestone in SJVN’s growth journey and reflects the company’s increasing role in India’s power and renewable energy sector.
Promotions Follow Recent Leadership Changes at SJVN
The senior-level promotions also come amid recent changes in the company’s top leadership.
The Ministry of Power has extended Bhupender Gupta’s additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN for three months from August 1, 2026, or until a full-time incumbent is appointed, whichever is earlier.
The leadership changes and the promotion of six senior executives are expected to support continuity and strengthen the company’s management structure as SJVN continues to pursue its growth and renewable energy expansion plans.
