Telangana: Govt Promotes 5 IPS Officers to Director General of Police Rank

The Telangana government has elevated five IPS officers of the 1994 batch to the prestigious rank of Director General of Police (DGP). This advancement was announced through an official statement issued by the state government.

The officers promoted to the Above Super Time Scale of IPS, now holding the DGP rank, are Kothakota Srinivas Reddy, B. Shivdhar Reddy, Abhilasha Bisht, Soumya Mishra, and Shikha Goel. Their new positions will be at Level 16 in the Pay Matrix of IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.

New Appointments and Responsibilities:

  • Kothakota Srinivas Reddy will continue in his role as Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad.
  • B. Shivdhar Reddy will take on the role of Director General of Police, Intelligence.
  • Abhilasha Bisht has been appointed as Director of the RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy.
  • Soumya Mishra will assume the position of Director General, Prisons & Correctional Services.
  • Shikha Goel has been named Director General of Police, CID, and will retain full additional charge (FAC) for several key positions, including Director of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, Director of the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and Women Safety, SHE Teams & Bharosa.
