Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring several senior IPS officers, including Commissioners of Police, Joint Commissioners of Police, Superintendents of Police (SPs), and 36 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs). The transfers are aimed at strengthening policing across key commissionerates, intelligence, CID, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), and other specialized wings.
The orders, issued by the state government, direct all officers concerned to assume charge of their new assignments immediately.
Key IPS Transfers
Sunpreet Singh shifted to Cyberabad
2011 batch IPS officer Sunpreet Singh, Commissioner of Police, Warangal, has been transferred and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad. He has also been given Full Additional Charge (FAC) as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Zone III (Rajanna) until further orders.
N. Swetha becomes Warangal Police Commissioner
2012 batch IPS officer N. Swetha, who was serving as Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), North Zone, Hyderabad City, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police, Warangal, replacing Sunpreet Singh. She will also hold the additional charge of DIG, Zone IV (Bhadradri).

Additional Charges for Senior Officers
Several senior IPS officers have also been entrusted with additional responsibilities:
- Ambar Kishor Jha, Commissioner of Police, Ramagundam, has been assigned FAC of DIG, Zone I (Kaleshwaram).
- D. Joel Davis, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad City, will additionally serve as DIG, Zone V (Yadadri).
- R. Bhaskaran, DIG, CI Cell, Intelligence, has been given FAC of DIG, Zone II (Basara).
- S.M. Vijay Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Hyderabad City, will additionally hold charge as Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), North Range, Hyderabad City.
Intelligence, CID and ACB See Key Changes
The reshuffle also covers important investigative and intelligence wings.
- Ch. Sindu Sarma, Joint Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, CI Cell, Intelligence, while also holding additional charge of SP, Special Intelligence Branch (SIB).
- Y. Sai Sekhar has been posted as Superintendent of Railway Police, Secunderabad.
- Chennuri Rupesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (SM&IT), Hyderabad City, and Ch. Praveen Kumar, Joint Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, have both been posted as Superintendents of Police in CID.
- R. Venkateshwarlu, who was awaiting posting orders, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, CAR Headquarters, Hyderabad City. His earlier posting as SP, CID, has been cancelled.
Additional SP Transfers
The government also transferred officers at the Additional Superintendent of Police level.
- Rajesh Meena, Additional SP (Administration), Wanaparthy, has been transferred as Additional SP (Administration), Vikarabad.
- B. Ramulu Naik has been directed to report to the Office of the Director General of Police.
36 DSPs Transferred Across Telangana
Apart from IPS officers, the Telangana government transferred 36 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) across multiple districts and specialized police wings, including CID, ACB, Intelligence, Special Branch, Cyberabad, Nizamabad, Khammam, Siddipet, and Ramagundam.

- K. Purushotham – ACP, Special Branch, Cyberabad
- S. Raju – ACP, CCS, Siddipet
- M. Rajesh – DSP, Anti-Corruption Bureau
The extensive reshuffle is expected to strengthen policing, intelligence gathering, crime investigation, traffic management, cybercrime response, and law-and-order administration across Telangana.
