Latehar: Tisia village, located at the foothills of Budha Pahar in Latehar district and once notorious for Naxal-run “people’s courts,” has been declared completely Naxal-free. The village, which had long lived under the shadow of fear, has witnessed a transformative shift following sustained government directives, relentless police operations, and the sacrifices of security personnel.

Naxal Influence Eradicated After Years of Fear

Tisia village was previously infamous for Naxal activities, where insurgents openly issued decrees, forcing villagers to live in constant fear. However, ongoing anti-Naxal campaigns by the police and strict enforcement by the government have now completely removed Naxal influence from the area.

Administration Reaches Remote Village for First Time

In a historic visit, the Latehar district administration traversed a 12-kilometer rugged path to reach the remote village. The team, led by Deputy Commissioner Utkarsh Gupta, Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav, Deputy Development Commissioner Syed Riyaz Ahmed, and SSB 32nd Battalion Commandant Rajesh Singh, conducted a Jan Sunwai (public grievance hearing) for the first time in Tisia.

During the session, officials listened to villagers’ concerns and resolved several issues on the spot, including matters related to pensions, ration cards, roads, bridges, schools, and other basic amenities.

Villagers Express Relief and Optimism

Residents expressed their relief at the improved security situation, highlighting that half of their problems would be resolved once roads and bridges are constructed. Many villagers became emotional as they shared their challenges directly with the administration team, reflecting the stark contrast between the past fear and current optimism.

Officials Promise Development and Security

Deputy Commissioner Utkarsh Gupta stated that concrete plans are being formulated to further improve the condition and development of Tisia village. Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav assured villagers that security measures would be strengthened, and there is no longer a need for fear. He emphasized that the police are fully committed to ensuring the safety of the villagers at every step.

A New Beginning for Tisia Village

With the eradication of Naxal influence and active administrative engagement, Tisia village now stands on a path toward sustainable development, improved infrastructure, and enhanced security, marking a new chapter for its residents.
