New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has finalised 22 recruitment cases during July 2026 for posts across various government departments and organisations, including positions in health, railways, labour, finance, home affairs, law, shipping and other sectors.
The commission released the consolidated recruitment results on September 7, with recommended candidates being informed individually. The results cover a range of medical, scientific, technical, legal, administrative and specialised posts.
22 Recruitment Cases Finalised
The recruitment cases finalised by the UPSC include:
- Deputy Controller of Explosives, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation, Ministry of Commerce and Industry
- Professor (Sugar Technology), National Sugar Institute, Kanpur
- Assistant Director (Safety), Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes
- Training Officer (Plumber), Directorate General of Training
- Assistant Legal Adviser, Directorate of Enforcement
- Specialist Grade III (Biochemistry), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

Medical and Technical Recruitment Feature Across Departments
Several of the recruitment cases relate to specialist medical and technical positions.
The UPSC finalised recruitment for Specialist Grade III positions in Biochemistry and Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The results also include four categories of Divisional Medical Officers under the Ministry of Railways, covering Bacteriology/Microbiology, Chest/Respiratory Diseases, Ophthalmology and Paediatrics.
Technical and scientific positions include:
- Deputy Controller of Explosives
- Deputy Director of Mines Safety
- Scientific Officer at the National Archives of India
- Junior Scientific Officer in Chemistry
- Junior Scientific Officer in Physics
- Nautical Surveyor-cum-Deputy Director General (Technical)

The 22 cases cover a wide range of government departments and organisations.
The recruitment results include posts under:

UPSC Records Unsuitable Reserved Vacancies in Some Cases
The recruitment document also records instances where candidates were not found suitable for certain reserved vacancies.
For example, two vacancies reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) remained without suitable candidates in the Deputy Controller of Explosives recruitment. Similarly, vacancies reserved for EWS and Persons with Benchmark Disability were recorded as having no suitable candidates in some other recruitment cases.
The commission also stated that applications from other candidates were duly considered, but it was not possible to call them for interview or recommend them for the respective posts.
Candidates Recommended for Appointment Informed Individually
According to the UPSC, candidates recommended through the July recruitment cases have been informed individually by post.
