LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Thursday carried out a significant reshuffle of senior IPS officers, transferring nine officers and assigning several additional charges across key police wings including Economic Offences Wing (EOW), PAC, Crime Branch, Cyber Crime and UP-112.
The reshuffle includes officers holding the ranks of Director General (DG), Additional Director General (ADG) and Inspector General (IG).
Jai Narain Singh Appointed DG, EOW
Jai Narain Singh has been relieved from his responsibilities as Director General of Police at the UP Power Corporation Limited and appointed as Director General of Police, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Lucknow.

The EOW handles investigations into major financial crimes, frauds and economic offences in the state.
Dhruv Kant Thakur Gets Additional Charge of Home Guards
Dhruv Kant Thakur has been entrusted with the additional charge of Home Guards alongside his existing responsibilities as Director General, Civil Defence.
The move places both Civil Defence and Home Guards under his supervision.
Vinod Kumar Singh Given Additional Charge of UP-112
Vinod Kumar Singh, currently serving in the CID and Cyber Crime wings, has now been assigned the additional responsibility of UP-112, the state’s emergency response system.
He will continue handling Cyber Crime and CID duties alongside the new assignment.
Major Changes in ADG-Level Postings
Alok Singh Shifted from Kanpur Zone
Alok Singh has been transferred from the post of ADG, Kanpur Zone, and appointed as ADG, PAC Headquarters, Lucknow.
He has also been given the additional charge of the Special Security Force.
Anupam Kulshreshtha New ADG, Kanpur Zone
Anupam Kulshreshtha has been transferred from ADG, Agra Zone, and posted as the new ADG of Kanpur Zone.
The Kanpur Zone is considered one of the most important policing zones in Uttar Pradesh.
A. Satish Ganesh Gets Additional Crime Branch Charge
A Satish Ganesh, currently serving as ADG, Traffic and Road Safety, has been given the additional charge of ADG, Crime Branch, Uttar Pradesh.
He will now oversee both traffic management and crime-related operations.
R K Swarnakar Posted to UP Power Corporation
R K Swarnakar has been shifted from ADG, PAC Headquarters, and appointed as ADG at UP Power Corporation Limited, Lucknow.
S K Bhagat Appointed ADG, Agra Zone
S K Bhagat has been transferred from ADG, Crime, and posted as ADG, Agra Zone.
Geeta Singh Posted to Training Directorate
Geeta Singh has been transferred from the post of IG, Prosecution, and appointed as Inspector General at the Training Directorate, Lucknow.
The Training Directorate oversees police training institutions and capacity-building initiatives in the state.
Administrative Reshuffle Aimed at Strengthening Key Police Wings
Officials said the reshuffle is aimed at improving coordination and operational efficiency across important police departments including cyber crime, emergency response, crime investigation, security and training.
The changes come as Uttar Pradesh continues to focus on strengthening law enforcement, internal security and technology-driven policing mechanisms.
