Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a major employment initiative under the Chief Minister Employment Mission, with the Sevayojan Department planning to organise large-scale job fairs for the first time across all 403 Assembly constituencies in the state.
The initiative aims to bring unemployed youth closer to private-sector companies at the local level and provide them with employment opportunities based on their educational qualifications, technical skills and experience.
The government has set a target of providing employment opportunities to 500 youths in each Assembly constituency, which could create job opportunities for more than 2 lakh young people through the Assembly-level employment fairs.
Mega Job Fairs to Be Held Across 403 Assembly Constituencies
Under the new initiative, a large employment fair will be organised in each of Uttar Pradesh’s 403 Assembly constituencies.
The key objectives of the Assembly-level job fairs include:
- Connecting unemployed youth with private-sector companies locally.
- Providing employment opportunities according to candidates’ qualifications and skills.
- Bringing companies and job seekers onto a common platform.
- Increasing access to employment opportunities for youth across the state.
The initiative is expected to make it easier for young people to participate in recruitment drives without having to travel to distant locations.
₹5 Lakh Budget Allocated for Each Assembly Constituency
For the first time, the Sevayojan Department has made a separate budgetary provision for organising employment fairs at the Assembly level.
A budget of ₹5 lakh has been earmarked for each Assembly constituency.
The department has started the process of releasing the funds and aims to complete all Assembly-level employment fairs by March 31.
The fairs are expected to begin from next month.
Private Companies to Conduct Recruitment
A large number of private-sector companies are expected to participate in the employment fairs.
Companies will conduct interviews and select candidates based on factors such as:
- Educational qualifications.
- Technical skills.
- Work experience.
- Job requirements.
The initiative will provide candidates with an opportunity to interact directly with prospective employers and explore jobs matching their qualifications.
Who Can Participate in the Employment Fairs?
Youth meeting the eligibility requirements will be able to participate in the mega employment fairs.
The eligibility criteria include:
- Educational qualification: High school to graduation.
- Age: 18 to 40 years.
- Registration: Mandatory registration on the Rojgaar Sangam portal of the Sevayojan Department.
Candidates will need to complete their registration on the employment portal to participate in the recruitment process.
Mega Job Fairs to Also Be Held Across All 75 Districts
Alongside the Assembly-level employment fairs, the government will also organise mega employment fairs in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
A separate budget of ₹10 lakh has been allocated for each district-level employment fair.
A large number of private companies will be invited to these district-level events to provide employment opportunities to local youth.
The Assembly and district-level employment fairs will be linked with the Chief Minister Employment Mission, with efforts being made to complete the targeted activities by March 31.
Government Targets Jobs for More Than 2 Lakh Youths
The Sevayojan Department has set a target of providing jobs to more than 2 lakh youths through the employment fairs being organised under the Chief Minister Employment Mission.
Director of Employment, Neha Prakash, said that for the first time, a budget of ₹5 lakh per Assembly constituency and ₹10 lakh at the district level has been allocated specifically for organising mega employment fairs.
She said the process of releasing the budget has already begun and the employment fairs are expected to start from next month.
The department will also ensure the participation of public representatives in the employment fairs.
The initiative is aimed at expanding access to private-sector employment opportunities and helping more young people find jobs closer to their local areas.
