Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth over ₹36 crore for a wide range of development projects across Uttarakhand, covering roads, drinking water supply, electricity infrastructure, and religious tourism initiatives.
The approvals aim to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve connectivity and public facilities in several districts of the state.
₹23.86 Crore for Rural Road Connectivity Under Village Link Scheme
Under the Chief Minister’s Village Connectivity Scheme and Rural Infrastructure Development Fund, the state government has sanctioned ₹23.86 crore for six new rural road projects.
These projects are expected to improve connectivity in remote and rural areas, helping residents access essential services more easily.
Major Investment in Drinking Water and Infrastructure Projects
A significant allocation of ₹14.57 crore has been approved for a lift drinking water scheme in the Tamlita region. Additionally, ₹1 crore has been sanctioned for immediate release in the current financial year to accelerate the project.
In Banbasa Nagar Panchayat of Champawat district, ₹1 crore has been approved for repairing damaged roads and drainage systems to improve local infrastructure.
Boost to Religious Tourism and Temple Development
The state government has also focused on religious tourism and cultural heritage development.
- ₹1.69 crore has been approved for beautification of Mahabgarh Temple in Dugadda block
- ₹1.50 crore for development of temples in Bikhiyasen area of Almora district
- ₹72.67 lakh for development of Maa Balkunwari Temple in Devikhal, Yamkeshwar region
- Renovation works have also been approved for Raja Haruhit Temple in Bikhiyasen
These initiatives aim to enhance pilgrimage infrastructure and promote tourism in Uttarakhand.
₹3 Crore for Power Infrastructure in Tanakpur-Banbasa
To strengthen electricity supply, ₹3 crore has been sanctioned for the establishment of a 220/33 kV power substation in the Tanakpur-Banbasa region.
This project is expected to improve power distribution and support growing energy demand in the area.
Highmast Lights, Safety Walls and Local Infrastructure Upgrades
Several smaller but important infrastructure projects have also been approved, including:
- ₹29.32 lakh for installation of 10 highmast lights in market areas of Salt Assembly region
- ₹97.79 lakh for construction of retaining walls and culverts in Herbertpur’s Udiya Khala area
- ₹25 lakh for development of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Park in Kichha
These projects aim to improve safety, lighting, and public amenities in urban and semi-urban areas.
Community Building Named After Late Deepak Pundir
In a separate decision, the Chief Minister approved naming a community hall built by the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority in Purukul village after former District Panchayat Vice President Late Deepak Pundir.
This move recognizes his contribution to local public service.
Government Focus on Balanced Regional Development
The approvals reflect the state government’s continued emphasis on balanced regional development, combining infrastructure expansion with cultural, tourism, and public welfare projects across Uttarakhand.
