Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth nearly ₹6 crore for development and relief works across six districts of the state. The approved projects cover community infrastructure, religious-site beautification and assistance for families affected by natural disasters.
The decisions will benefit Almora, Rudraprayag, Champawat, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Uttarkashi. Alongside these projects, the state government has also doubled the maximum permissible funding for Panchayat Bhawan construction from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh.
The approvals are aimed at improving local infrastructure, strengthening facilities in rural areas, supporting religious tourism and providing timely assistance to people affected by natural calamities.
₹2.90 Crore Community Building Approved in Almora
In Almora district, a community building will be constructed above the multi-storey parking facility in Chiliyanoula, under the Ranikhet Assembly constituency.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved ₹2.90 crore for the project. The facility is expected to provide local residents with a dedicated space for social, community and public programmes.
The project will add to the civic infrastructure available to residents and is expected to improve the availability of facilities for community activities.

Funds Approved for Temple and Religious Site Beautification
The government has also allocated funds for improving religious sites in Rudraprayag, Champawat and Bageshwar.
In Rudraprayag district, ₹20 lakh has been approved for the beautification of the Isht Devi Rajrajeshwari Taltoli Temple in the Kedarnath Assembly constituency.
In Champawat, the government has sanctioned ₹66.74 lakh for the beautification of various sites in Kaligunth-Purnagiri under the Champawat Assembly constituency.
The largest allocation in this category has been approved in Bageshwar district, where ₹2.40 crore will be spent on the beautification of temples under the Kapkot Assembly constituency that come under the Religious Affairs Department.
These projects are expected to improve facilities and arrangements at religious places while supporting tourism and pilgrimage activities at the local level.
₹20 Lakh Relief for Dependants of 16 Disaster Victims
The approvals also include financial assistance for families affected by natural disasters.
In Chamoli district, the dependants of 16 people who died in natural disasters during 2026-27 will receive a total of ₹16 lakh as admissible relief.
The assistance is intended to provide financial support to the affected families following the loss of their family members.
38 Families in Uttarkashi to Get Rental Support
In Uttarkashi district, 38 families in Chinyalisaur tehsil affected by heavy rainfall and landslides have been shifted to rented buildings at safer locations.
The government has approved ₹4.56 lakh to cover their rent for three months. Each family will receive rental support at the rate of ₹4,000 per month.
The measure will help the affected families stay in safer locations while providing temporary financial support during the disaster recovery period.
Panchayat Bhawan Funding Doubled to ₹20 Lakh
In another significant decision, the Uttarakhand government has doubled the permissible amount for the construction of Panchayat Bhawans under the state sector.
The allocation has been increased from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh. A government order has also been issued regarding the revised funding limit.
Panchayat Bhawans play an important role as centres for local administration and elected representatives in rural areas. The increased allocation is expected to help Gram Panchayats construct better-equipped buildings and strengthen basic infrastructure at the village level.
The decision could also improve the working environment for local representatives and provide residents with better access to Panchayat-level services.
Development and Disaster Relief Combined
The latest approvals reflect the state government’s focus on both development and disaster response. While funds have been cleared for community infrastructure and religious-site improvement, separate provisions have been made to support families affected by natural calamities.
The projects across six districts are expected to strengthen local infrastructure, improve facilities at religious destinations, support tourism and pilgrimage activities, and provide immediate financial assistance to disaster-affected families.
By increasing Panchayat Bhawan funding alongside these project-specific approvals, the government has also placed emphasis on strengthening rural-level infrastructure and local governance in Uttarakhand.
