Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved ₹20.79 crore for a range of infrastructure and development projects across Uttarakhand, focusing on roads, government housing, public buildings, and sanitation facilities.
The approvals aim to accelerate infrastructure development and improve connectivity and public services in both rural and urban regions of the state.
Focus on Infrastructure and Public Welfare
The sanctioned projects include:
- Road construction and repair works
- Government residential buildings
- Public utility and administrative infrastructure
- Construction of sanitation facilities, including separate toilets
The Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure all projects are completed with quality standards and within the stipulated timelines.
Judicial Housing Project Approved in Champawat
In Champawat district’s Tanakpur area, ₹1.29 crore has been approved for the construction of Type-V residential quarters for judicial officers.
- Total project cost: ₹1.29 crore
- First installment released: ₹77.61 lakh
- Funding structure: Central share ₹69.85 lakh, State share ₹7.76 lakh
This project aims to improve residential facilities for judicial officers posted in remote areas.
Administrative Infrastructure Strengthened
₹2.24 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a non-residential building for the Home Guards and Civil Defence Headquarters.
- First installment released: ₹89.80 lakh
The facility is expected to strengthen emergency response and administrative operations in the state.
Major Road Projects Across Multiple Districts
Several road and connectivity projects have been approved to improve transportation in hill regions:
Tehri Garhwal
- ₹3.52 crore for reconstruction of Kamand–Thouldhar motor road (5.41 km)
Bageshwar
- ₹4.01 crore for construction of Binatoli–Garkot motor road
Pauri Garhwal
- ₹2.22 crore for strengthening and asphalting of Chaplodi–Phaldwadi road
- ₹3.67 crore for improvement of Bilkedar–Gaurikot motor road
Nainital
- ₹4.01 crore for improvement of Dunikhal–Ratighat pedestrian route (5.5 km CC construction)
These projects aim to enhance rural connectivity and ease travel in hilly terrain.
Urban Mobility Project in Dehradun
In Dehradun, ₹1.03 crore has been approved for the construction of a four-lane access-controlled corridor.
- Route: NH-72 (Lachhiwala) → Gular Sports Stadium → Maharana Pratap Chowk (Raipur)
This corridor is expected to reduce traffic congestion and improve urban transport flow.
Inclusive Sanitation Facilities Across Districts
The government has also approved ₹66.02 lakh for sanitation infrastructure.
- Separate toilet facilities for men, women, transgender persons, and persons with disabilities
- Coverage: Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar, and Uttarkashi districts
This initiative focuses on inclusive and accessible public sanitation facilities.
