Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Approves ₹93 Crore for Tourism, Roads, Helipads and Infrastructure

Funds cleared for tourism development in Almora, road and police infrastructure, new helipads, geothermal energy exploration, school reconstruction and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a total allocation of ₹93 crore for strengthening infrastructure across various districts of the state. The approved funds will support the construction and expansion of helipads, tourism infrastructure, road connectivity, police infrastructure and other development works.

The approvals are aimed at improving public infrastructure and connectivity while strengthening facilities in tourism and disaster-prone areas across Uttarakhand.

₹56.29 Crore Approved for Tourism Infrastructure in Almora

The Chief Minister has approved ₹56.29 crore for the development of tourism infrastructure near the Golju Temple in Almora district.

The project will involve the development of tourism facilities on land belonging to the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Animal Husbandry Department.

The initiative is expected to strengthen tourism-related infrastructure and improve facilities for visitors in the area.

Funds Approved for Road Improvement in Tehri and Dehradun

The state government has also approved funds for road reconstruction, improvement and widening projects.

In Tehri Garhwal district, ₹3.32 crore has been approved for the reconstruction and improvement of the Gyansu-Gwad Passi-Budogi Motor Road in the Tehri Assembly constituency.

For Doiwala Assembly constituency in Dehradun district, ₹1.23 crore has been approved for the improvement, widening and strengthening of roads in the Bhaniawala displaced area.

The work will cover various main and internal roads in:

  • Aathurwala Ward No. 7
  • Aathurwala Ward No. 8
  • Aathurwala Ward No. 9
  • Aathurwala Ward No. 10

The project will include road improvement and widening and paving with interlocking tiles.

Police Housing Projects Get Approval in Haridwar

The Chief Minister has approved funds for the construction of residential facilities for police personnel in Haridwar district.

The approved projects include:

  • Old Police Station Shyampur: ₹5.76 crore for construction of 12 Type-II residential units, with ₹2.31 crore approved as the first instalment.
  • Kotwali Jwalapur: ₹5.70 crore for construction of 12 Type-II residential units, with ₹2.28 crore approved as the first instalment.
  • Bahadrabad Police Station: ₹1.26 crore approved as the first instalment for construction of six Type-II residential units.

These projects are aimed at improving residential infrastructure and facilities for police personnel in the district.

New Helipads and Infrastructure Approved in Uttarkashi and Tehri

The state government has also approved funding for helipad and emergency infrastructure in Uttarkashi and Tehri Garhwal districts.

In Uttarkashi district, the approvals include:

  • ₹1.18 crore as the first instalment for construction of the ADRF Post at Janki Chatti.
  • ₹1.39 crore for construction of a helipad in Fitaria village of Mori Development Block.
  • ₹46.45 lakh for beautification of the existing helipad at Joshiyara in Kansen Patti, Badagaddi.

In Tehri Garhwal district, ₹75.68 lakh has been approved for construction of a helipad in Bhangla village of Patti Dogi.

The development of helipad infrastructure is expected to improve connectivity and support emergency response and accessibility in remote and mountainous areas.

Funds Approved for School Reconstruction and Geothermal Energy Exploration

The Chief Minister has also approved funding for education infrastructure and renewable energy exploration.

An amount of ₹4.01 crore has been approved for the reconstruction of Rajkiya Inter College Pawki Devi, Naicholi Khanana and Chamrada Devi, with ₹1.98 crore sanctioned as the first instalment.

In addition, ₹3 crore has been approved for UJVN Limited to conduct preliminary exploration surveys of geothermal energy sources at identified sites in the Tapovan area of Chamoli district and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR). An amount of ₹1.20 crore has been approved as the first instalment for the work.

₹20 Crore Released for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

The Chief Minister has also approved the release of ₹20 crore as the state’s share of subsidy for eligible beneficiaries under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in Uttarakhand. The funding will be provided under the Solar Photovoltaic Programme in coordination with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.

The initiative is aimed at supporting eligible households in adopting rooftop solar power and promoting clean energy across the state.

Lwani-Suya Motor Road to Be Named After Freedom Fighter Shaheed Kheemji

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also approved the renaming of the Lwani-Suya Motor Road in the Tharali Assembly constituency of Chamoli district.The road, located under Deval Development Block, will be named after Shaheed Swatantra Sangram Senani Late Kheemji, in recognition of his contribution as a freedom fighter.

Uttarakhand Government Focuses on Infrastructure and Development

The series of approvals reflects the Uttarakhand government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure across multiple sectors, including tourism, road connectivity, police housing, emergency facilities, renewable energy and education. The sanctioned projects are spread across several districts and are expected to improve public facilities, connectivity and essential infrastructure while supporting tourism and sustainable development in the hill state.
