Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Approves ₹62 Crore for Development Projects and Kumbh Mela 2027 

The financial approvals include ₹41.37 crore for 21 NABARD-funded schemes, ₹12.31 crore for Kumbh Mela 2027 preparations, ₹6.62 crore for an 8 MLD STP in Dehradun and funds for religious sites, scholarships and Vibrant Village programmes.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions totalling ₹62 crore for various development schemes and construction works across the state. The approved funds cover infrastructure, sewage treatment, preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027, religious and tourism site development, scholarships for children of ex-servicemen and public outreach programmes in Vibrant Villages.

The major approvals include ₹6.62 crore for land acquisition for an 8 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the Tapkeshwar Mahadev and Garhi Dakra Cantonment area of Dehradun and ₹41.37 crore for 21 NABARD-funded development schemes.

Additional funds have been approved for Kumbh Mela 2027 preparations in Haridwar, development of religious sites in Almora and Pithoragarh, beautification work in Udham Singh Nagar’s Kichha area and scholarships for students from ex-servicemen families.

₹6.62 Crore Approved for 8 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant in Dehradun

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved ₹6.62 crore for the purchase of land required for the construction of an 8 million litres per day (MLD) Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the Tapkeshwar Mahadev-Garhi Dakra Cantonment area of Dehradun.The project is expected to strengthen sewage management infrastructure in the area and support better sanitation and environmental management.

₹41.37 Crore Sanctioned for 21 NABARD-Funded Development Schemes

The state government has also approved ₹41.37 crore for 21 development schemes funded through NABARD. These projects are part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen development infrastructure across Uttarakhand and support various development requirements in different parts of the state.

₹12.31 Crore Approved for Kumbh Mela 2027 Preparations in Haridwar

Ahead of Kumbh Mela 2027, the Uttarakhand government has approved ₹12.31 crore for various arrangements in Haridwar.

The sanctioned amount includes:

  • ₹5.46 crore for bamboo barricading, Chakravyuh barriers, temporary fire watch towers and other related arrangements.
  • ₹6.85 crore for the construction of eight temporary night shelters (rain baseras).

These measures are aimed at strengthening arrangements and improving facilities for visitors and pilgrims expected to attend the major religious event.

Funds Approved for Religious and Tourism Site Development

The Chief Minister has also approved financial assistance for the renovation and development of several religious and tourism-related sites in the state.

The approved works include:

  • Sukeshwar Mahadev Temple in Dwarahat: Renovation and restoration work.
  • Maa Mangla Bhagwati Temple complex in Seraghat, Almora: Construction of a dharamshala.
  • Buddheshwar Temple in Pithoragarh: Beautification and construction of a dharamshala.

These projects are expected to improve facilities at important religious destinations while supporting the development of pilgrimage and tourism infrastructure in Uttarakhand.

₹25 Lakh Approved for Ambedkar Park and Pond Beautification in Kichha

The state government has sanctioned ₹25 lakh for the beautification of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Park and pond in the Kichha area of Udham Singh Nagar district.The project is aimed at improving the appearance and facilities of the public space, contributing to better local amenities for residents.

₹36.84 Lakh Scholarship Approved for Children of Ex-Servicemen

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also approved the release of ₹36.84 lakh from the Kargil Martyrs’ Families Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for scholarships.

The financial assistance will support students from ex-servicemen families pursuing higher education in fields including:

  • Engineering
  • Medical studies
  • PhD programmes

The scholarship initiative is intended to provide educational support to eligible students and assist them in continuing their higher studies.

‘Thana Diwas’ and ‘Ratri Chaupal’ to Begin in Vibrant Villages

In another important decision, the Chief Minister has approved the launch of ‘Thana Diwas’ (Police Station Day) and ‘Ratri Chaupal’ (Night Village Meeting) programmes in Vibrant Villages located in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts.

The programmes are intended to bring police and public services closer to residents in remote villages.

Through these initiatives, local residents will be able to seek assistance and solutions related to:

  • Law and order issues
  • Document verification
  • Character certificates
  • Cyber awareness
  • Police-related complaints

The programmes are expected to provide a platform for addressing public concerns at the local level and improving coordination between villagers and the police administration.

Uttarakhand Government Focuses on Infrastructure and Public Welfare

The latest financial approvals reflect the Uttarakhand government’s focus on strengthening infrastructure, improving public facilities and supporting development across different sectors.

From sewage treatment and NABARD-funded projects to preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027, religious tourism infrastructure, educational scholarships and police-public outreach programmes, the sanctioned funds cover a wide range of development and welfare initiatives.
