Uttarakhand to Host Seva Sankalp Campaign from September 17 to October 17: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand will organise the Seva Sankalp Campaign from September 17 to October 17, connecting citizens with Viksit Bharat 2047 through public participation, welfare activities, innovation and good governance.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the Seva Sankalp Campaign will be organised across the state from September 17 to October 17, 2026, beginning on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Friday, CM Dhami said the month-long campaign will focus on service, public participation, dialogue and innovation, while connecting citizens with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

He said every citizen has an important role in turning the resolve of a developed India into reality. The campaign will involve students, youth, women, beneficiaries, parents, elected representatives, social organisations and citizens across all districts.

‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ and ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat’

Under the Aashirwad Ka Diya programme, collective lamp-lighting events will be organised at government scheme centres, LPG distribution centres, ration shops, religious places, along the Ganga and other prominent locations.

Collective programmes are also proposed at new medical colleges, dams, bridges, Amrit Sarovars and Jan Aushadhi Kendras, with participation from social organisations.

Under Mere Sapno Ka Bharat – Chitra Seva, schools and other educational institutions will hold painting, essay and speech competitions on Viksit Bharat 2047 and India’s development vision for the next 25 years. Selected paintings will be displayed in schools, with parents and citizens encouraged to participate.

Stories of Change, Anganwadi Activities and Kalash Yatra

The campaign will use several initiatives to highlight the impact of government schemes. Under Namo Seva – Ankahi Kahaniyan, schools will stage plays based on the country’s achievements.

Aangan Milan Seva will involve children, parents, Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers in activities focused on maternal and child health, nutrition and welfare. Parents will also be personally invited.

Through Seva Ki Kahaniyan, real-life transformations brought by Central and State Government schemes will be shared through speeches, paintings and storytelling.

Under Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra, a Kalash symbolising the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision will be installed at a prominent city intersection. Cycle and motorcycle rallies will also accompany the yatra.

Citizens to Participate Through ‘Seva Setu’ and ‘Mera Yogdan’

The campaign will also encourage citizens to contribute directly to socially beneficial activities. Under Seva: Mera Yogdan, people will be encouraged to participate in tree plantation, cleanliness drives, teaching activities and other community initiatives.

Through Seva Setu, camps will be organised under the Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar initiative. These camps will provide information and access to Central and State Government schemes, along with health and multipurpose camps.

Under Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang, the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 will be presented through rangoli activities.

Photographs, videos, beneficiary experiences and stories of positive change from the campaign will also be widely shared through the media.

Innovation Challenge and Good Governance Dialogue

The Seva First Innovation Challenge will bring Central and State Government departments together to identify real-life problems and invite problem statements. IITs, IIMs and experts are proposed to join as jury members and mentors.

Selected innovations will receive support, guidance and testing facilities, along with assistance for approvals, testing and regulatory requirements.

Meanwhile, Sushasan Seva Samvad will provide a platform for extensive dialogue with public representatives on service delivery and good governance.

CM Dhami said the campaign is not merely intended to showcase government schemes and achievements. Its broader objective is to make citizens active participants in the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision through service, dialogue, innovation and public participation.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affection for Uttarakhand and described Devbhoomi as particularly close to his heart. Dhami added that youth participation will be especially important in building a developed India.

The campaign will be organised extensively across every district, with respective district in-charge ministers also participating. Dhami recalled the Prime Minister’s description of the third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand, saying the state will take this vision forward with people’s support and participation.

Cabinet Ministers Khajan Das and Ram Singh Kaida, along with Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, were also present at the press conference.
