Patna: The Bihar government is launching the Vidyarthi Sahayog Portal to provide students with a direct platform for registering academic and hostel-related complaints and suggestions. The portal will open on August 25, with complaints targeted for resolution within 30 days.
Online Platform for Student Complaints
Students can submit their grievances through the portal, while hostel-related complaints can also be registered through the toll-free helpline 1100. The government has said students’ identities will remain confidential.

30-Day Deadline for Resolution
Complaints will be addressed within 30 days of registration, followed by written information to the applicant. If action does not begin within 10 days, an automatic notice will reportedly be issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on the 11th day.
Direct Link Between Students and Government
The portal is designed to create a direct communication channel between students and the state government.
The government has been implementing several education schemes, but the new system aims to ensure that individual complaints also receive attention within a defined timeframe.
Monthly Student Support Camps
The government will also organise Vidyarthi Sahayog Camps at educational institutions on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Students can use these camps to raise problems and offer suggestions directly.
Focus on Student-Centric Education
The initiative seeks to create a direct communication channel between students and the government. While Bihar already runs several education-related schemes, the portal is intended to ensure that individual student grievances also receive timely attention.
Higher Education Director Prof. N.K. Agrawal said the initiative was introduced on the directions of the Chief Minister and Education Minister to ensure faster resolution of student problems.
The portal, grievance camps and fixed resolution timeline together are expected to strengthen accountability in Bihar’s education system and give students a more formal role in raising concerns about academic and hostel facilities.
