Gandhinagar/San Francisco: The Gujarat government delegation led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel concluded its visit to San Francisco on August 19 and departed for Washington, DC, as part of its ongoing efforts to attract global investments and strengthen Gujarat’s position as a leading hub for semiconductors and advanced technologies.
Before leaving San Francisco, Chief Minister Patel and members of the delegation visited the Consulate General of India, where they were welcomed by Consul General Dr K. Srikar Reddy.
During the visit, the delegation held a series of one-on-one meetings with representatives of leading global companies and institutions working across key technology sectors.
Gujarat Targets Global Semiconductor and Technology Investments
The discussions in San Francisco focused on strengthening Gujarat’s position as India’s foremost semiconductor and advanced technology hub.

Analog Devices Discusses Semiconductor Manufacturing Opportunities
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held discussions with the Executive Vice President of Analog Devices on the requirements for establishing and operating wafer fabrication facilities.
The discussions covered critical infrastructure requirements, including:
- Uninterrupted power supply
- Highly stable infrastructure
- World-class manufacturing conditions
- Advanced technology and innovation capabilities
Analog Devices reiterated its commitment to investing in technology and innovation in India.
The company currently employs more than 300 professionals in Gujarat and contributes to advanced semiconductor engineering in the state in partnership with Tata Electronics.
Patel urged global semiconductor companies to leverage Gujarat’s infrastructure, policy support, skilled talent and semiconductor initiatives to become part of the state’s growing global semiconductor ecosystem.
Gujarat Explores Deep-Tech Collaboration with TDK Ventures
The Gujarat delegation also met Nicholas Savage, President of TDK Ventures, to explore potential collaboration opportunities involving Gujarat’s startups, universities, corporations and research institutions.
The discussions focused on potential cooperation in several emerging technology areas, including:
- Semiconductor technology
- Advanced materials
- AI-based solutions
- Deep-tech commercialisation
- Research and innovation
The engagement is aimed at creating stronger connections between Gujarat’s innovation ecosystem and global technology and investment networks.
Wadhwani Foundation Talks Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
Chief Minister Patel also held discussions with Romesh Wadhwani, Chairman and Founder of the Wadhwani Foundation, on opportunities to strengthen skill development and industry-oriented training in Gujarat.
The talks covered collaboration in:
- Skill development
- Industry-oriented training
- Entrepreneurship
- Innovation
- Research commercialisation
The two sides agreed to prepare a roadmap over the coming months to strengthen the connection between students and industry.
The proposed initiatives include better connecting ITI and diploma students with employers, expanding Entrepreneurship Development Centres, and establishing a Wadhwani Innovation Centre in Gujarat.
Gujarat Invites Global Companies to Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027
During the meetings, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel invited the participating companies and institutions to take part in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2027.
The state aims to use the summit as a platform to accelerate:

- Entrepreneurship

Following the San Francisco leg of the visit, the Gujarat government delegation departed for Washington, DC on August 19.
