Bilaspur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu deo Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth ₹329.77 crore during the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas celebrations held at the Police Ground in Bilaspur. The projects include 42 new works worth ₹309.95 crore and the inauguration of 5 completed works valued at ₹19.18 crore.
Major Infrastructure Inaugurations and Foundation Stones Laid
CM Sai inaugurated the newly built Divisional Commissioner’s Office at Koni, constructed at a cost of ₹11.91 crore. He also unveiled the statue of Raja Raghuraj Singh, built for ₹11 lakh.
Under the Smart City Mission, the Vande Mataram Garden and STP construction under dual-piping system, developed at a cost of ₹6.99 crore, were inaugurated.
Additional inaugurations included:
- Ward 18 civic enhancement works costing ₹30.33 lakh
- New classroom block at Primary School Lalkhadan, Mahamand for ₹50 lakh
He also laid the foundation stone for the Bhainsajhar Lift Irrigation Scheme worth ₹4.43 crore, along with Mataari Sadan buildings at Tikri and Chilhati, each costing ₹30 lakh.

Road, Bridge & Irrigation Upgrades Across Bilaspur
A significant portion of the announcements focused on upgrading connectivity and irrigation infrastructure. Key projects include:
- ₹69.79 crore — Upgradation of Sirgitti–Sarvani–Pasid–Amaldiha–Bartori–Dagori Road
- ₹32.09 crore — Nehru Chowk to Darrighat (10.70 km)
- ₹59.55 crore — Koni–Mopka Bypass (13.40 km)
- ₹4.78 crore — Karma–Barbhatha–Sargadhodi (4.20 km)
- ₹2.99 crore — Bilaspur–Ratanpur–Katghora strengthening (1.40 km)
- ₹2.89 crore — Bhardaiyadeeh–Kalmitaar Road (2.30 km)
- ₹6.70 crore — Sipat Nawadih Chowk–Darrabhatha–Leelagar Bridge Road (4.525 km)
- ₹2.20 crore — Dabki Nala Bridge
- ₹6.96 crore — Jaanjhi Village–CISF Colony CC Road (1.675 km)
- ₹99.99 lakh — New community hall
Large-Scale Bridge Construction Across Rural and Tribal Areas
Several major bridge construction projects across Bilaspur’s rural and forest regions were launched, including:
- Road construction from Shivghat Barrage to Mangla STP (₹8.12 crore)
- Major bridges at Bagdharra–Gaurakhuri, Sargoid–Kurdar, Jharna–Baiga Mohalla, Bagthapara and others
- PM Janman Yojana bridges at Aamagohan–Chapparapara and Kumhardakhol
- Upgradation and lining of canals at Kharang, Kopra, Bahtarai, Pendrai, Lakhram, Akaltari and multiple reservoirs
