Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday gave a major development boost to his home district Gorakhpur, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 71 development projects worth several hundred crores. The event was held in the sacred city of Mahayogi Guru Shri Gorakhnath Ji and focused on industrial growth, housing, skill development, and infrastructure expansion.

Among the key highlights was the launch of a ₹208 crore Flatted Factory Complex in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area, along with EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Lower Income Group) housing projects.

₹208 Crore Flatted Factory Complex to Boost MSME Growth

A major announcement during the event was the expansion of industrial infrastructure under GIDA. The new flatted factory complex is expected to support small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing ready-to-use industrial space.

CM Yogi stated that the facility will enable entrepreneurs to start industries with low capital investment while ensuring better profitability. The complex will house more than 100 MSME units within a single campus, making it a model for modern industrial development.

He also noted that GIDA is rapidly expanding to nearly 7,000 acres, strengthening Gorakhpur’s position as an emerging industrial hub.

71 Development Projects Inaugurated and Laid Foundation Stone

During the grand programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 71 projects covering industrial development, housing, and urban infrastructure.

He also distributed allotment letters to beneficiaries of EWS and LIG housing schemes as well as industrial plots. Additionally, certificates were handed over to students trained at the NIELIT skill development centre, highlighting the government’s focus on employment-oriented education.

“No Compromise on Law and Order”: CM Yogi Issues Strong Warning

Addressing the public gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath reiterated his government’s strict stance on law and order.

He said:

“Uttar Pradesh will not make any compromise with crime and criminals. Those who understand only a certain language will be dealt with in the same language.”

He emphasized that since 2017, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the “double engine government” has worked beyond public expectations and ensured development across all sectors.

Focus on Agriculture: Growth Rate Rises from 8% to 18%

Later, CM Yogi inaugurated the “Joint Divisional Kharif Productivity Conference 2026” for Gorakhpur, Basti, and Azamgarh divisions under the Kharif campaign 2026.

Praising farmers, he said:

“Our farmer is practically a scientist himself.”

He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s strong performance in agriculture, stating that the state now leads the country in food grain, vegetable, and horticultural production.

He added that the state’s agricultural growth rate has increased from 8% to nearly 18%, reflecting major transformation in the sector under recent government initiatives.

Tribute to Victims of Delhi Fire Incident

Amid the development announcements, the Chief Minister also expressed grief over a tragic fire incident in Delhi that resulted in loss of lives.

Calling the incident “deeply heartbreaking,” he extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He also wished for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.

The Gorakhpur event highlighted the Uttar Pradesh government’s dual focus on industrial expansion and agricultural growth. With major investments in GIDA, MSME promotion, housing, and skill development, the state aims to strengthen economic opportunities while maintaining a strong emphasis on law and order and rural development.
