Senior IAS officer Sanjay Kumar, who is posted as MD, PCF, in Uttar Pradesh, is a nature lover and an avid wildlife photographer (as his X bio mentions) and posts regularly videos and photos of wild animals in their natural habitats. He recently posted a video of a small herd of elephants waiting for a new-born calf to get up patiently, and greeting their new herd member by raising their trunks in joy when it gets up on its feet!
The officer posted this video that captures one of the rare moments in the wild – the birth of a baby elephant and its first unsteady gait and effort to join its herd’s march – on social media platform X, calling it “a heartwarming sight”. The video is from Nagerhole National Park, he subsequently informs.
Take a look at this rare sight:
What a heart warming sight of an elephant herd waiting patiently for just few hours old calf to wake up, so that they can march on to forage at Nagerhole N.P. Look at the excitement when the baby finally wakes up !!@byadavbjp@rameshpandeyifs pic.twitter.com/hb4B5bJJSv
