The Chief Minister also honored the state’s agitators and women power, reiterating that the festival stands as a symbol of gratitude toward those who contributed to the creation and development of the state.

Uttarakhand’s Journey: From Struggles to Success

Recalling the state’s early challenges, Mr. Dhami noted that when Uttarakhand came into existence in 2000, it faced limited resources and geographical difficulties. However, through determination and public participation, the state has today emerged among India’s leading regions in education, tourism, and infrastructure.

He said that Uttarakhand’s progress story reflects the strength of its people and their unwavering commitment to balanced growth, environmental preservation, and sustainable tourism.

Festival Reflects Heritage, Faith, and Forward Vision

Mr. Dhami described Uttarakhand as a land blessed with natural beauty, spirituality, and rich cultural heritage. The Devbhoomi Silver Festival, he said, symbolizes the state’s glorious traditions and cultural resilience. “Through this festival, we are sending a message that while Uttarakhand remains rooted in its traditions, it is rapidly embracing modernity and progress,” the Chief Minister stated.

He also emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the state government is implementing policies aimed at empowering every segment of society — from farmers to women, youth, and workers.

Infrastructure Push: Sewerage, Ropeway, and Corridor Projects

Highlighting ongoing development projects in Haridwar, Mr. Dhami announced major infrastructure initiatives, including a sewerage network project worth Rs. 186 crore and drinking water schemes exceeding Rs. 187 crore. He said that a new medical college and a model degree college are being set up in Laldhang to strengthen education and healthcare facilities.

He also informed that a ropeway from Har Ki Pauri to Chandi Devi and a bridge over the seasonal river in Laldhang are under construction. Additionally, the proposed Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor is being developed on the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakal Corridors, and a heliport project is also being planned to boost connectivity and tourism.

Governance and Reforms During Four-Year Tenure

Reflecting on his four years in office, Mr. Dhami highlighted decisive steps taken by his government against social and administrative challenges, including religious conversion, land encroachments, counterfeiting, and corruption. He mentioned the state’s initiatives such as the Uniform Civil Code, action against illegal madrasas, and Operation Kalanemi, all aimed at ensuring law, order, and social harmony.

He affirmed that the government’s focus remains on strengthening local economies, improving livelihoods, and transforming Uttarakhand into a model of balanced development.

Technology Meets Tradition: AI Robot Narrates Digital India’s Journey

In a unique blend of innovation and culture, the festival featured a state-of-the-art AI robot that narrated the story of Digital India. The robot highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s digital transformation initiatives, enthralling the audience and drawing thunderous applause for showcasing India’s technological progress on the cultural stage.

Folk Legend Narendra Singh Negi Enthralls the Audience

The evening reached its emotional peak with a musical performance by Garh Ratna and folk icon Mr. Narendra Singh Negi. His soulful renditions of songs like Triyugi Narayan and Thando Re Thando Mere Pahadon Ka Paani Thando filled the air with energy and nostalgia. The audience — from children to elders — joined in, celebrating Uttarakhand’s cultural richness and spirit of unity.

A Festival of Pride, Progress, and People’s Participation

The Devbhoomi Silver Festival 2025 marks a significant milestone in Uttarakhand’s journey of 25 years — blending heritage with progress. The Chief Minister’s vision of a developed, inclusive, and self-reliant Uttarakhand resonates strongly through this celebration, symbolizing the fusion of tradition, technology, and transformation.
