Sitarganj (Uttarakhand): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday laid the foundation stone for a 150-metre concrete bridge over the Sisauna River in Sitarganj, to be built at a cost of around ₹11.41 crore. The project aims to improve regional connectivity and support socio-economic development in the area.
Bridge to Improve Connectivity Between Shaktifarm and SIDCUL
The upcoming bridge will connect Shaktifarm with the SIDCUL industrial area in Sitarganj. According to the Chief Minister, the project is expected to benefit nearly 50,000 residents by reducing travel distance to SIDCUL Sitarganj and the Sisouna Block Office by around 9 kilometres.
He said the improved connectivity would significantly boost local development and ease daily commuting for residents.
Focus on Infrastructure and Regional Development
Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is achieving new milestones in infrastructure and development. He added that the state government is strengthening roads, healthcare, education, drinking water systems, and other essential services across both urban and rural regions.
Major Development Projects in Udham Singh Nagar
The Chief Minister highlighted several ongoing and upcoming projects in Udham Singh Nagar district and the Shaktifarm-Sitarganj region, including:
- A modern dairy processing unit under a public-private partnership model producing milk powder, ice cream, and cheese
- An Aqua Park at Prahlad Palsia, worth around ₹54 crore, with 75% construction already completed
- Upgradation of the Primary Health Centre into a 30-bed Community Health Centre
- Ongoing work on the Sitarganj–Tanakpur four-lane road, drainage systems, motor roads, and multi-storey parking facilities
He also mentioned the development of an AIIMS satellite centre in Kichha on 100 acres with an investment of ₹351 crore, aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Plans for Airport, Bypasses and Sports Infrastructure
The Chief Minister said efforts are underway to develop an international-level airport at Pantnagar. Other key projects include:
- Gadarpur and Khatima bypass roads
- Bus terminals at Khatima and Kichha
- Sports stadiums and athletics facilities
- Cycling and sports infrastructure development
These initiatives are aimed at boosting connectivity, tourism, and economic activity across the region.
Jamrani Dam Revival and Agricultural Support
Pushkar Singh Dhami also announced the revival of the Jamrani Multipurpose Dam Project, which is expected to strengthen drinking water supply and irrigation facilities in the Terai region.
He further stated that the support price of sugarcane has been increased by ₹30 per quintal to benefit farmers.
Government’s Focus on Transparency and Employment
The Chief Minister emphasized that all development projects are being completed within set timelines with a focus on transparency and public welfare. He also highlighted the implementation of a strict anti-copying law in the state, under which more than 32,000 youth have secured government jobs in the last four and a half years.

Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated that the state government remains committed not only to infrastructure development but also to preserving cultural values, promoting social harmony, and ensuring transparent governance across Uttarakhand.
